Hey, can anyone tell me how the process for skip-the-counter at MCO works for Alamo? Specifically, do they have aisles for each booking category or is it similar to National where they might just have the one Emerald aisle or executive aisle sections with an assortment of vehicles classes.

Looking at booking for late Nov and I'm getting a decent deal on an intermediate SUV but I'm not sure it will be big enough. Not sure if that category even really exists or if they simply run out various size SUVs all day long.

Any advice or experience would be certainly appreciated.

In the past, you show them your paperwork at the garage and they show you the aisle where you can pick any vehicle in the row. We’ve gotten a full-size SUV and I’ve seen minivans parked there.

I just returned today. I rented a Minivan and used the skip the counter. It was great. There were several to choose from. We were in and out quickly. Renting the car today was so easy as well. We left the car at 746, checked our bags with American and went though security, via precheck, within 30 minutes.

Not sure how big of an SUV you are looking for but the intermediates are not huge. The back does not fit a ton of luggage so it depends on what you're looking for. If you have a price you're comfortable with now and its pay later or refundable then secure it but typically prices are better the closer you get to your trip. Check back about 1-3 weeks before your trip. If you are a Costco member they usually have good rates. If you happen to be an AP holder they offer a discount for that.

This is encouraging...there are three families in our group and we each reserved a minivan with Alamo-hoping we have the same luck!
