Alamo second driver problem

Tried to start Alamo online check in for our trip on Monday. I am an insider member. Insider number on reservation but when I get to second driver part it says $9.99 a day??? I thought that joining the insider program gave you 2nd driver free. I called and the operation said I have to wait in line when I get to airport to add second driver for free? What is the point of online check in if I have to still wait at counter? Am I missing something online that will take care of this before we get there??

When we have rented from alamo we use the kiosk. It also says there will be a charge. We do not add the driver, go pick the car and proceed to the toll booth check out.

The employee at that booth has always added the 2nd driver on for us at no charge (as we are insiders as well).

Usually, when you use the kiosk, they say there will be a charge (default setting), but, it does not carry over to the the right hand side of the breakdown, it will show a zero for the charge and will not change your total. If it does, no problem, they can change it at the exit booth (not toll booth).

You can have it adjusted at the exit booth. Just have your insider's card with you, just in case. Just wondering, when you added the 2nd driver, did it change your total? It should not show up on the right hand column.
