Alamo Quiksilver - how does it work?

I made a ressie for Alamo a while ago for 5/6-5/12/06 using the Walmart code and a coupon I received from the Entertainment book to try to get me to buy their 2006 book. I used the quiksilver # for my hubby and now wonder what that gets me. Using Quiksilver, do I have to go to a counter in the airport? I hear some people using Alamo are getting to go right to the garage to pick out their cars and then going to the Kiosk(ala National EA). How do you get that option?

I don't have any answers for you but I am wondering how it works also. I made 2 reservations (one for me and one for DH since we will need 2 cars) but I didn't know about the *********** program until after the fact. I did go to the website and applied for the *********** program as a small business (I have my own business at home) and they accepted the application. Can I go back and modify my reservation using my *********** ID? I don't want to lose the rate because it has now tripled so if I can't add it to my existing reservations I guess I will be standing in line. Thanks for any help anyone can give the OP and myself!

ETA: Oops! Is that a forbidden word? Sorry about that. I guess I should have spelled it as the OP did.

Bump again...I also made a reservation with the Walmart code. I signed up for *********** but does it have to be reflected on my confirmation because it is not...and I cant make a new reservation with *********** because it puts a different code into the spot where the Walmart code goes (and of course not as good a discount).

In Jan. '05 we used Alamo on our *********** membership. I went straight to the booth on the ground level of the parkade, did the paperwork in less than 5 mins., and I got the car before my wife could get our bags. The woman getting the car next to mine told me she was in the regular line for 1 hr. The reutrn took even less time.

Try to go to the modify section on the Web. When you login with QS, edit the discount to the Walmart one. You will get to a screen comparing the current and revised one, you can keep or change.

Just returned from Orlando Thur. I used on line check in on the Alamo website to by pass counter. I was able to go directly to the vehicles and just present my license and credit card at the exit booth. Incredibly easy and does not require signing up for QS.

This looks like a great option, but there are some restrictions. If you use a coupon code you are not able to use online check-in.

We are leaving Feb. 1st. Where is the Alamo garage?,I assume there are signs to the Alamo Parking garage. We are getting in at 9pm and would like to get to WDW as easily as possible.

The Alamo garage is on the second level nearest the exit. If you take the escelator then the garage is to the right, go thur the National section to the Alamo section. If you take the elevator, it's right there.

Or should I use on-line check-in before my trip in February? I don't anticipate a huge line at CCC--but I could be wrong...

I have already booked our 3 day ressie with Entertainment card discount.

So, basically, you are giving them your CC info and DL info and you can go in a shorter line to pick up your car?

TIA!

P.S.--Why does Quicks lver get ****** when you type it in? :confused3

Just re-read your post...so, you can't use a coupon code for online check-in? I thought it was just the Pre-pay option that you couldn't use other discounts? :confused3

I just checked Alamo's website and no you cannot use online check in if you use a coupon code or voucher with your reservation. You can see all the requirements and exclusions under the "Check Online Now" tab at the top of Alamo's website. I hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the info...

Hopefully, it won't be too crowded at CCC at 8:00 am when I pick up our rental car! :teeth:

Darn, I was hoping to use the online check in on my next trip to avoid any lines, but I always have a coupon code when I rent. Bummer.

Because there is a successful towncar company in Orlando called Quick silver (all one word, same as the Alamo club), and they have been banned from the boards, and all mention of the company name was retroactively *** out in all existing posts.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

Ok...that makes sense! Thanks!
