alamo question

can you walk to the garage and pick your car and drive to the checkout booth? or will I have to check in at a desk inside then get the car which is how i think dollar does it?? i signed up for emerald aisle thru moussavers and i like the emerald aisle but the rates are way high for my dates,

unless you are a member of the alamo quick silver program which is free to join - you only have to have a small business and what family isn't a business? but I digress.

unless you belong to the quick silver program you have to go to the counter. There is also the on-line check in option. Look into that.

Last trip we used the on line check in/out for Alamo. You fill out your info at home and print it out. y
When you arrive You walk to the row of cars that is in your reservation (they have signs marking the class) the keys are in the car (they were in the car door if I recall correctly), pick your car, load your stuff and proceed to the exit.

The agent at the exit will check you out, the on line service is easy & free .

so anyone can join quick silver program? I can join and don't have to be business to take advantage, correct?

I will join QS program if I can get in the car and go. the alamo rates are cheaper by 50$ as of now. i want something not outrageously priced and where I can avoid going to a counter.

My first time with Alamo too. I got a great rate for Labor Day weekend. Anyway, we have quick silver. Do we still check in online or is that all taken care of?

I used Alamo in May. I didn't join QS. I just filled everything in online. When I got to the airport, I used the Kiosk (very easy) and it printed a slip of paper with a bar code. At the bottom is said "take this slip, pick out your car from the correct car type and drive to the exit booth" That is what we did. We picked out our car, loaded it up and drove to the exit booth. They scanned our "ticket" and out we went.
