When you select the pre-pay option with Alamo do you have to pay for the entire rental up front or just 10%? I have never selected this option and was curious how it worked.

Don't know for sure, but I figure you have to pay for the whole thing - hence it is prepaid.

However, I strongly suggest you look for coupon codes and other discounts which are usually way better than the pre-pay discount. Then you aren't locked into it either and can later cancel.

This forum has lots of codes and discount notices, but you can also check out www.mousesavers.com and click on rental cars, then the company you like (Alamo or otherwise).

One thing to remember about the prepay option is that you need a Credit Card to do so and like the previous poster you will be locked into the rate. Check for cancelation rates and etc.

I generally use codes and coupons but for kicks and giggles I tried the prepay option to see what the total was. The way I figured it, it should have been around $151.xx, but the prepay amount was only $15.xx

Was it a glitch in their system and would they honor it?

Just checked online again. It appears there must have been a glitch before as now it shows a true amount. Prepay entire rental.
