Alamo on-line check in

I usually use Dollar rental car, but got $20 a day at Alamo. I saw on-line that they have on-line check in and then when you get to the airport you go right to the garage and pick your car and just stop at the booth on your way out. Has anyone done this before, just wondering if it went smooth. Also, how will I know where the Alamo garage is at the airport.

Any help would be appreciated.

We have never done online checkin. Does your e-mail confirmation have a link for online checkin? If there was a coupon code used for that $20/day you will have to check in at the kiosk or counter. You can use SaveTime ahead of time to input a lot of your information though.

As for where it is located, just follow the signs to ground transportation (level 1) you will then walk out of the door that is in just past Alamo counter (terminal B only, not sure on A). Then walk accross the road way to the garage. Alamo cars are in the garage on the left. It is very well marked.

Yes, there is a link to the on-line check in on my confirmation. So I assume I am okay to check in online? I did not use a coupon code, it was a weekend special that alamo had on their website.

I have done online check in and it works slick. It would work the same as National's Emerald Aisle. You take care of everything online and print out your stuff before you leave. You then go to the garage, pick the car from the proper car class and drive to the booth. Show the info at the booth and off you go. It is super easy.

Alamo is on both sides A and B. Simply go down to level 1 and go outside and cross over to the parking garage. There will be signs directing you to each car rental company. Some are on level 1 of the garage and some are on level 2, simply follow the signs. It is very easy.

I second that the online check in is easy to use and very convenient. You can use online check in if you use a contract ID but not if you use a coupon code. The $20 per day weekend deal uses a contract ID.

This option is sometimes better than the coupon savings you would have to forfeit...

LOVE on-line check in. Unfortunately, the last few times I've had a coupon code and had to use the Kiosk (which is really good too -- unless their system is down like our last trip and then everyone is waiting in line).

My family doesn't travel well (moody/grumpy LOL) so anyway to limit/avoid extra headaches is always appreciated.

If it's an option (and u got a great price too) I would do it in a heartbeat!
