Alamo experience at MCO

I have been here at WDW since this past Wednesday. Arrived around noon. Had a confirmed fullsize (one class upgrade coupon) for $173 for 10 days. Went to the kiosk row, about 8 or so machines, 2 were being used. I entered my confirm number, confirmed about 4 or 5 questions the kiosk asked of me (name, address, etc) just touching the YES icon on the screen each time. In less than two minutes I was on my way across the arrival drive and into the garage. Picked out a nice Chevy Impala,white, light tan leather interior, sunroof. Loaded in my bags, drove to the exit person, gave my form the kiosk printed out, my license, credit card and mirror hang tag, and upgrade coupon. About 2 or 3 minutes there as she typed stuff into her terminal. After that, she gave papers and cards back to me, said to have a good day and I was on my way. Every bit as good as National, an excellent experience.

I have always have a good experience with Alamo. Most of my times come with renting a car in LA/CA.

Thanks for your imput. This is the first time we are renting from Alamo got an excellent rate. Normally rent from National and I was a little nervous about it. I will miss the emerald Isle service but National prices are sky high this year. Again thanks for sharing and easing my nerves a bit!

they have self-serve kiosks now?
they didn't have that the last time we were there (2 years ago)..
we've rented from alamo our last 5 visits to WDW and have been pleased every time.....very easy out and back in...
and i love being able to pick my car....

We just used Alamo at MCO, picked up the car 10/11 and returned it 10/16. Great rates with a coupon and the kiosk check-in was fine. Only problem was a delay in getting our car -- we had a 6 a.m. pickup but there were no mid-size cars available that morning. Another party was there at the same time, same story. It took about 10 minutes for them to get cars to us (apparently they have cars at both A and B terminals of the airport). We got a Saturn Aura and the other folks got a Toyota Corolla. Nice cars, and for about half of the cost of any other rental for that time period, I wasn't too bothered by the small delay. I'd definitely consider using Alamo again.

We picked up yesterday about 5 pm, all computers were down inc kiosks. They hand wrote out receipts, not too happy with that. Lines were backed up, thank goodness for QS.

How does QS and the kiosk's work?? We used QS our 1st time renting w/them and had to check-in at the counter since it was the 1st time. This will be our 2nd w/Alamo and QS. Do we still check-in at the kiosk and then go to the garage or go directly to the garage???

Glad to hear all is well with your rental. I am bit nervous to use that ad3829mrb code without having a coupon. Hopefully checking in at the Kiosk will help. Is that the code you used?

We thought Alamo was great for our July trip. The only problem was - well could have been - is that we reserved and paid for our vehicle with my Disney Visa card. It is also in DH's name. But since I was the original card holder, they almost did NOT let us have the vehicle because the car was in my DH name. We did not even think twice about it when we reserved it. Fortunately she let us go and just told us that next time, use a card that was ORIGINALLY in DH name or have the rental in my name. Lesson learned.

We used it a few weeks ago when we were there
It was so quick & easy we loved it.
Went right to the kiosk and was on our way to garage in 2 minutes
Picked out our mid size SUV and was out of the garge in 5 minutes.

We returned the car at the end of our trip to the Dolphin and took ME to the airport

At the Dolphin the Valet out front took the car and gave us a receipt which only took another 3 minutes.

We then took the boat back to BCV

It was our first experience with Alamo and will use it from now on.

PlutosFriend, I used the ad3829mrb coupon and had no problems. It showed up on the initial reservation paperwork , and I didn't need any kind of hard copy coupon when I checked in at the kiosk and picked up the car.

Always, any company, any method of acquisition. All items were default checked as not wanted (my profile), but still always, always check.

QS info was in the initial reservation as well as in the kiosk. I did the kiosk checkin, just a few minutes, then garage, worked great.

Thanks!! I think the key is, using the kiosk. I met some friends in Orlando last week. I gave one of the girls the Alamo code and she did NOT check in at the kiosk, she went to the counter. They made her use a coupon. Another friend of ours had some sort of coupon, and when we turned the car in, we had to go back to the counter and give the coupon. That is what got me scared! Otherwise we had a very nice, brand spanking new Trail Blazer.
