I have been on the look out for a rental that was similar to our rental from Feb 06 of ($150 total), that was not meant to be this year it seemed. So we started reserving, cancelling, making a new reservation.. for the last month. Last week was a break in new coupons, and we finally got a rate of $205 (8 day 2 hr rental mid-size suv). Now it's down slightly $193.18, I'll take it! 
We used a walmart code, and ad14 in rate code, and the $20 coupon from the hot deals page of Alamo. Hope this makes a slight change for you too! Good Luck
