I was on another site and I came across this code 7012295 I plugged it in and it worked for my December trip. It seems to include a lot including Collison insurance and a additional driver. Has anyone used this code?

If the insurance waivers are included, that almost always means an employer- or group-specific code. The fact that google has never heard of this one also suggests it's not "public".

Be prepared for the possibility that you will not be able to pick up the car at that rate without the documentation that you are a member of the group it was intended for. It doesn't happen that often, but folks have been reporting difficulty a bit more than they used to.

Most importantly, be absolutely sure that you have other insurance coverage while you have the vehicle, including loss of use. If something happens, chances are good that your waiver will be voided when it is discovered that you did not qualify for it. Worse, most "automatic" credit card coverages require that you decline the rental agency's coverage, and in this case you would not have done so.

We must find out what this discount code is for. I just plugged in my dates and I can get an midsize rental for my dates for $118 + taxes and fees. I can get an SUV for $206 + extra day, taxes and fees. I am going to reserve it plus keep my reservation at Thrifty. If I get there and get declined for the rental, then I will just go over to thrifty. I have a ressie for thrifty for $350 for a full size car. I would much rather have the SUV for $20 more if possible. Lets see if we can find out what this discount code is for. I am tempted to call Alamo and ask. Matter of fact, I think I will.

I called Alamo. 7012295 is a travel agent discount. They will ask for an ARC card(whatever that means). So, I guess its up to you if you want to chance it or not. The way I see it, with all the info on the web, how do they know where you got the rate code for the discount. :confused3

We've been through this before with other codes. They are not meant for public use and they are use at your own risk. Some are willing to take the chance, others are not. No since in calling and asking about the code.
I plugged it in for my dates and it's more than I have with the safe to use for everyone Mousesavers code.

Tissa, what codes are you using? I am not willing to chance it either, but the rates are outrageous. If you are using alamo, what are the discount codes you are using? I did the walmart 428448 but my base rates still show about $300 for economy and over $500 for SUV :confused3 If you have safe ones to share then please do. I need all the help I can get. :worship:

Yes that is the one I was using with Alamo. Still way too high. I'm waiting till the week before and hope to get in on a last minute special like I did last time. If not, I'm not renting. I refuse to pay that much.

I kept my reserve with Thrifty and put in a reserve with Alamo with that discount code. If they ask for proof I will tell them I got it online somewhere which is not a lie. If they tell me I dont qualify for it, then I will go to the thrifty counter with my other reservation. Good thing these are not required to be pre-paid. But, yes, I am going to chance it UNLESS another deal comes along. I don't think there are any other discounts out there for an Orlando rental cars in July. Last year, I had my reservation done in April for July and got an SUV with the walmart discount and all the taxes and fees for $286 and that was considered a pretty good deal since gas prices were at $4.00 in July 2008. Of course I will report if they ask for it or not. I hope the kiosks are up and running when I go. Better yet, I will do an online checkin from home before going to the airport. Sounds like a plan to me. :cool1:

Yet.

I suspect that as these sorts of things happen more frequently, it will only be a matter of time.

Just used the code and got a Chevy Cobalt for $94 with insurance on the car included. It asked me if I wanted to check in and bypass the counter, which I did. Had to put in all my information and the instructions I got was to bypass the rental counter...pick out my car and proceed to the exit. I will need to show my drivers license and credit card. That is all I need. I read the fine print and nothing else is required.
Tremendous price...will continue to monitor and check others but will go with this and take the chance.

Are you a *********** member? If so, you might get by with using it even without the proper ID. But you will have to go through the exit checkpoint where you'll have to show ID. They may ask for the ARC card there, or they may not.

If you are not a *********** member, then you aren't bypassing the counter, you are just saving time by entering info now so you can use the kiosk instead of waiting in line for an agent. And if you do have to use the kiosk, don't be surprised if it pulls up your reservation and tells you that you have to go to the counter and speak with an agent. For codes that require specific IDs, this is the case more and more often these days. Be sure you have a back-up reservation.

Tara, did you use that nasty word . . . quick silver? Don't you just love the automated censor?

I am a long time travel agent with the proper credtials and card to show. Every where in the country I have rented at every car company they have asked for my card to verify my elegibility for the rate.

Not against board guidelines to use it in this sense. When talking about Alamo(I believe that's the car rental company that has quick silver) it's okay...not a problem.

Yes I was talking about Alamo's quick silver program. :)

I think with Alamo that you can checkin online and not have to go to the kiosk or counter. You can't be using any coupons. Online checkin is different than Save Time. With Save Time you are just pre-entering your information but must still go to the kiosk or counter. With online checkin, once you are checked in and have your print out, you can go directly to the car and the exit. You will need your print out from home that you ptinted after you checked in online. I don't think you have to be a quick silver member to checkin online and then go directly to the garage.

Even then, you'll still have to get past the garage attendant---I can't remember which agency bavaria uses, but she reported that she often had to dig out her EU passport to leave the garage on a promotional rate.

The bottom line is: if you're using a code for which you don't have proper documentation, you have to accept that it might not work.

I do agree.
