Alamo compact car

Hi there, prices are finally dropping for our car rental next week,by a huge difference. I am curious if anyone can tell me, what I would expect for a compact with Alamo? I am not going to get a smart car or something like that, am I? Just to put thing in perspective we have 2 girls, 11 & 9. Myself and my hubby. We will only be using the car for back and forth to the airport, and to parks and such! We drive a Chev Optra, I am not even sure what that would be considered, a mid or compact?
Any help would be appreciated!

Anybody? It is much cheaper for us almost $40 to do a compact, but if it is way, way to small then NO! We need something with 4 days!

Alamo shows a Nissan Versa as a compact. If you are only going to have carry on luggage than it should be fine. You might need to put a bag in the backseat with your kids.

I have a midsize booked and they show that as a Corolla. There was a thread on here about a month ago that said there were Civics, Focus' and HHRs on the midsize aisle. I'm hoping for the HHR when I go. Luggage will be our issue but for the price that I got I'll make it work. On some sort of whim I looked at the prices Friday night and with a coupon I got my rental for $103 all in....then I went back to check again because I thought I might have made an error...well didn't the price drop another $10.

The iussue usually isn't the people, it's the luggage. If you have two very large bags, probably only one will fit in the trunk. You would have to put the other in the backseat between the girls.
If you have a tendency to carry smaller bags you can make the trunk work more to your advantage and possibly but bags under the kids feet. The only tough rides woudl be to/from the airport.
