If I rent a mini van at Alamo at MCO and the same day return it to the site at the Dolphin it will cost me only about 60 bucks...that includes getting one at Dolphin for departure day as well...
does Alamo really have a site at the Dolphin and at MCO?? Will it be hard to find or get to?? We are planning on staying at the Dolphin or Swan btw

can anyone tell me about this?? This would be cheaper than the 120 for the luxury van trip for the 5 of us...

any advice?

tia

MAN I wish S/D did ME!!! We loved ME last year, and FREE ME was even better!!!

It's National, actually. That's what I did, by the way. Two one-way, one-day rentals.

Thank you for your quick response

I went the alamo website...is that not the right website?? Alamo must now be national right??

are they hard to find at the airport? where is the service located there at MCO?

Thanks again

Alamo and National (same location) is right across the road at MCO. Walk out of the terminal and you are there. Do a search on this board for either, you will get a LOT of threads on both.

They are located in the parking structure next to the terminal, which is a huge plus. Some other rental companies are a shuttle ride away.

And speaking of checking the boards, don't forget to look for National Discount Codes. They are lurking around here. Or you can google for some.

both Alamo and National are located at the Dolphin resort. Alamo would be the cheaper rental to use.

Alamo isn't always cheaper - so I check both. For my trip next month, Alamo had the lowest rate from MCO, and National had the lowest rate picking up at the Dolphin.

Not necessarily. I rented a compact car at the Dolphin for 3 days from 2/4/06 to 2/7/06 and only paid $48. Alamo was at least $20 more for the same period.

Even if National is slightly more expensive, you can bypass the rental counter at the airport and go straight to the garage and pick a car, which will save you some time. The lines at the Alamo rental counter can sometimes be very long.

You bypass the lines at the National rental counter ONLY if you're an Emerald Club member. Otherwise, the first stop for either Alamo or National is at their respective counters one floor below baggage claim.

Can you bypass the lines at the car care center at WDW if you are an Emerald club member or do you only get that advantage at the airport? If you go with Alamo is there an advantage of being a quick silver member to get car?
Thanks :) :woohoo: :rockband: :ssst:

The advantage to being an Emerald Club member is for locations that have Emerald Club service. I know the Dolphin has only counter service, and I suspect that's the same at the Car Care Center - although I don't know for sure. When you reserve your car online from the Car Care Center - you will see whether or not it has an Emerald Aisle. It's probably the same thing for Alamo Quick Silver. (Can't make those last two words into one without it looking like ***********!)

When you reserve a reservation online, you can also do an online check in and bypass the lines at Alamo. The catch is you can't have any coupons! I ended up taking off my $15 off coupon of my ressie. My thought was that $15 is worth an hour of my time waiting in line!

Does anyone know if the lines are typically long for picking up a minivan at Care car center in WDW. We will be doing that the end of August around 5:30pm. Also I am planning on calling them around 3:30 to ask them to send a shuttle over to get us so we can then pick up the minivan. Has anyone done this before. I also got the ******* when i put the word together!! :confused3

This is not true. Check the National website. You can use the QuickRent feature from National and still bypass the check-in line. However, according to the website, you cannot use coupons when using QuickRent.

As an Emerald Club member, you can bypass the check-in line and use coupons.

Yes, you're right - if you do the online check-in. However, whether or not you can use a coupon with Emerald Aisle service depends on the coupon. In the past, you had to stop at the rental counter if using an upgrade coupon. Not sure if that is still the case.
