I currently have an AP & have booked a great rate for a minivan through Alamo for November. My AP will no longer be valid (expires later this month). I intend to buy a new AP in November but not until after we pick up the rental car.

Also - I put the rental car in my husband's name with my AP.

Has anyone had any experience with using the AP discount with Alamo? Do they check the AP to see if it's current and/or compare the names?

Just use the kiosk and you shouldn't have a problem.
I haven't used my AP discount for a rental car in years, but always use some other discount codes and have never had a problem using the kiosk. And have never been asked for any coupons.

I've used the AP discount lots of times with Alamo and they have never asked to see it. Just use the kiosk when you check in.

We always check in online ahead of time then just grab a car & stop at the booth. I wasn't sure if they checked anything at the booth.

We've used a BJs discount code a couple times before & they've never checked our BJs card. Was hoping it would be the same way with the AP.

Thanks!!

It's also on the passholder website. I've been a passholder since 1995 and have never used this discount for rental cars. There are too many better ones out there. I think the continental code is 7014139 and the Visa code is 7015504 just to name a few. I'm sure there are more on mousesavers, plus you should watch threads with discounts on upcoming car rentals as folks throw around codes and coupons all of the time. Even after being part of the boards for many years, I still manage to safe a ton by watching the transportation boards.
