We'd like to catch these two shows while we're there (3 days). How early do you think we should head over and get in line for any specific show? Also, my DD is 4... if she needs a potty break, is it easy to get up in the middle of the show and come back after using the bathroom? Silly question, I know, but I think about this stuff!

Thanks!

The line for Aladin in the worst line I have ever seen! There is little to no organization. We used our Disney Visa perk for this one but I would say that I would be there at least 45 minutes before the show. I have a five year old and she went before we went in and she was fine for the entire show. But if you have to go I don't think it would be too difficult.
As for Disney Playhouse I would get in line 20 to 30 minutes before and don't even think about going potty during this show. Once you leave I think it would be impossible to get back in. The show is only 20-25 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info! We too are going to attempt these!

Bump!
I would like to know what the Disney Visa perk is for the Aladdin show too!
TIA!! :flower:

Does anybody know at what frequency the Alladin show occurs during the day?

in the late morning. However, you can find the schedule for the day you're going to be there at disneyland.com. Go to calendar and input the dates of your visit and it will give you the exact times. I think they put the calendar up about 3 or 4 months in advance!

BTW...It was my understanding that Aladdin was one of those shows that has so much seating that it usually isn't an issue getting a seat??? I take it some of you have had experiences otherwise????

My sister and I went to see the show two weeks ago. There was plenty of seats. We did not care where we sat, so we were in the top tier. You could still see everything in the show. I also have a 3 year old and 2 year old. It was a little loud, and I know would have scared them. They have a huge snake that comes out as Jafar. So if you want to get a good seat, I would get there early, if you don't care then get there 5-10 minutes before it starts. You do have to climb quite a few stairs, but the second floor has an escalator.

There is a tiny bathroom in the back of the Playhouse Disney theater. My dd had to go halfway through the show and when dh and her got up a CM quickly stopped them before they got to the exit and directed them to this bathroom. Very convient for the age group Playhouse Disney attracts! They only missed one song.

She also had to go in line for Aladdin and they let us out and right back into the same spot. Alot of kids were having to go. But I don't know about during the show or if there are bathrooms in that theater. I'm sure it would be fine, just don't know how it works.

As far as lines we've never waited more then 20 minutes for Playhouse Disney. With Aladdin we do usually wait 45 minutes but you don't have to. The theater is huge. We tend to go in the afternoon and the line is in the shade, so we will grab our spot, sit down (as many will do), and either dh or I will run out and grab some treats. The hot dogs and fries at the counter service nearby are very good, or there are always ice cream treats or mickey bars to be had. Its actually a nice downtime. Just make sure you have time to eat your food while in the line outside. I believe they don't allow it inside the theater. The way the line is set up makes it easy to get in and out without disrupting other people.

I'm really excited about taking my son to the Playhouse Disney. He loves Bear in the Big Blue house. Is bear a person dressed up or is he some sort of puppet? I've heard there are a lot of puppets involved, but if Bear is an actual person in a suit that would be much cooler:) I think it would be great if they could get him doing autographs and greetings in the park as well.

Bear doesnt do meet and greats at all and he is about 7 feet tall :)

Be advised with Aladdin there are NO bathrooms in the building so to use it during the show you'd have to exit the building and walk to the Hollywood and Dine Restrooms then back- So Id recommend a potty break right before ya enter-

I like rear orchestra. I think it gives the best view of everything.

I've seen Aladdin get completely full more than once, sometimes before the doors even open on particularly crowded days. Usually they don't open up the top, balcony section, but on crowded days they do and I saw the whole theater fill up.

I found it to be completely reliable for WDW, so I'm guessing they should be reliable for DL, too. They said they haven't found any "bad" seats...and that the capacity is so huge that you rarely have to wait any longer than for the show before yours to end.

My experience is that the Disney shows are great...the set up is great...and it REALLY isn't worth stressing over where you sit. At least, that's what I found to be true at my two previous Disney visits.
