Aladdin leaving Hyperion - Save the Genie

I think it's funny that only a couple of years ago Disney was being criticized for not having anything Frozen in their parks and not being properly prepared.

And while I must say it got a little old for me during my 10 day WDW trip last Christmas, people are substantially exaggerating the amount of Frozen that is in the parks.

I think the biggest problem is Disney hasn't treated frozen how it should be and just putting in sing a long and fireworks at a park that needed the attendance boost. Frozen deserves something like what Tokyo is doing with it a 450 million dollar land with an e ticket.

Arguably yes.

The sing along was clearly a short term fix from the beginning and Frozen in Norway (I hesitate to even bring it up because I know how this discussion goes) does scream of similar propping up of attendance.

The claim that Frozen is jammed onto "everything" though isn't actually true. It's a perceptual thing. For example my wife who doesn't care for the Incredibles (I know... I know...) complained there was too much of that at the Parks. When you don't like something, you notice it a lot more than when you do like something. The attendance numbers for Frozen events speak for themselves, Frozen should be in the parks.

Although, to give the counter to that, Frozen hasn't yet shown it has the staying power for a land. You could certainly say that the amount they're spending on Frozen for Shanghai is a gamble. If the sequel is a hit on the same scale, I think that particular argument becomes moot.

Even if they build a proper land as in Tokyo's case, it'd still annoy some people, though. Frozen has been pretty much everywhere since it was released, and the automatic response to every time Let it Go is played at the parks is ''Oh, it's that song again'' The Frozen segments at both World of Color and Disneyland Forever are some of the most beautiful parts of their respective shows, but you can tell some people are just annoyed by the fact that they chose Frozen over any other Disney property.

And I agree that this ''Frozen is anywhere'' is more of a perceptual thing, especially at DLR where it hasn't been as huge as it's been at DHS.

I like the movie but I personally would love to see the amount of Frozen stuff in DLR scaled back. I want Tangled and BatB in the Royal Theatre back along with Muppet Vision.

More news? Maybe? Big Thunder Mountain being turned into something Star Wars? ?????

Save the holiday lights. Save Aladdin. And had there been enough notice before hand there would have been save the Art of Animation, Save One Man's Dream, and Save Maelstrom threads.

Change hurts.

Change is necessary.

Two of the largest criticisms around here are:
Disney never changes or adds anything!
and
Disney is closing X and changing it to Y! Stop it Disney!

Dr. Dolittle would call this Push Me Pull me syndrome.

I'd like to see Aladdin come to WDW. I am from Northern California but visit Florida often. BatB is OLD. Aladdin maybe be old too, but it would be "new" to the audience at DHS.

They also left a big hole in the show when they had an accident with the flying carpet a few years ago. When we saw the show, the "Whole New World" scene was terrible because the "Carpet" just came up from behind the stage and the characters stepped off of it.

The flying carpet has been back flying properly with Aladdin and Jasmine on it for some time now.
