Al Lutz has a new update today.

7/6 That Sinking Feeling
http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al070610a.htm

Here’s some of what Al Lutz wrote about:

- DL’s new parade: “Soundsational” (2011)
- DCA’s new day-parade (2012)
- Glow Fest is a $ucce$$
- WOC’s reviews: “consistently stellar”
- Locals not happy with only 4,000 WOC FPs
- WOC’s cancelled show on June 27: Guest Relations’ “confusion and indifference”
- 4th of July’s weekend crowds: “relatively mellow” in size
- Halloween parties: Guests inside DL can stay inside DL for the fireworks (No wristband for you!)
- Electrical Parade expected to return to DLR this Christmas
- “Sticky & Friends Structure” & Parking
- Is there a “broad skybridge” in Harbor Blvd’s future?

:earsboy:

thanks for this, it was some real interesting stuff.

What concerns me most is the parking structure falling apart! :scared1: I never heard that! The picture shows some cones "fencing" off that part of the garage, but it doesn't warn people not to walk there. I think of cones for cars, not people.

I always love his updates. Feels like you get the inside scoop on all things DL.

My two cents:

Locals APers are mad about the out of towners getting a jump on WOC fastpasses? I'll switch them to be able to make payments on an AP. Or just the great locals only deals they get every summer.

Glad to hear a well written, true complaint about the WOC flooding cancellation issue. All that many guests wanted was some kind of compensation. Sheesh, even a stuffed Mickey, perhaps?

May try to make it to Halloween fireworks after all... Which would be AWESOME!

Great article Al!

SOOOO excited that Electrical Parade should be at DCA this Christmas. I have been wanting DD to see it for ages, but we keep not being there when it is running. She loves to watch the video I bought when it was "glowing away" in the 90s.

I am also excited for two new parades coming to the parks.

Thanks for posting this; very happy to hear that the Electrical Parade is coming back so soon!

Great article ~ I don't like the new Halloween Party plans, stay and enjoy the festivities without a wrist band?? - if they're gonna have a party only allow those who pay for the ticket to participate or don't have parties at all just have nightly Halloween Fireworks like last year.

I wonder what C-mas EP return means ~ just late December or all of the Holiday Season *late November*???

I also wonder when exactly the Electrical Parade will be going on...I hope they post the dates at least a couple of months in advance, as I'd like to plan my December trip to coincide with the parade.

We haven't ever made it down for the Halloween party, but I suspect I'd be feeling rather bitter if I had paid for an extra event that other people ended up attending for free.

I'd love if they used had the Electrical Parade going by Thanksgiving time. We'll be down south visiting family for Thanksgiving week that would be a great time to squeeze one or two more days of use out of our APs before they expire in December. Being able to watch the EP would be the deal maker.

Traditionally it's a short run at the holidays. Last year it started on December 18th.

IF it returns to DLR, I would expect a similar run, but of course, it's just speculation.

Thanks for posting this S. S.

Yes, nice to read Al's take on the disasteroud WoC cancellation and how people were treated.

If I paid for the Halloween party, I'd be rather upset that everyone who didn't pay was allowed to stay in the park. That means I won't be able to get a fireworks spot easily. Everything will be crowded, etc. I'll be interested to hear how it all works out this fall.

That's what I would expect this year, as well. We missed it last year by about five days! So close! I'd also expect a similar run this year since I think they bring it out to help spread the crowds out during that really, really busy time. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they do it earlier, but won't hold my breath.

Everyone is waiting for the official statement from DLR about MHP. Just like what all the pp said on all the threads, it will be disappointing if the statement that Al Lutz report is true, but it will also be good to some people (mostly the local AP holders. No offense) who are only interesting in seeing the fireworks. I'm only there just to see the Halloween Screams and to enjoy a less crowded park. But to pay a ticket while everyone is allowed to stay in the park during MHP and watch the fireworks is not worth it.

So anyone who goes to DL during the day can stay for the Halloween party events without buying a ticket?

Uh oh. I can already see where this is going...a repeat of last year's overcrowded Halloween nonsense. I went last year and after 3 p.m. the park became total gridlock as APers got out of work and school early, and they started camping out for fireworks viewing spots (and this was on the weekdays. I can only imagine the parties being held of Fridays will be even more overcrowded!). And even if they only let people with wristbands on the rides after the party starts--does anyone realize that last year many rides got closed down for the Halloween fireworks?

Yeah, I can really see all this working out badly. I probably won't be making my annual October Disney trip this year; and even if I do, I definately will NOT be shelling out extra money for the Halloween party.

Thanks for posting the update for me. ;) I was flying back from Europe yesterday and just got to start catching up today. :)

At the end of his article was a small mention about the WOC roadshow which is making its first stop somewhere in San Fran tonight but I can't find any info anywhere online about where this will be held in the city. Am I missing something? Anyone have more information?

Edit: Sorry this wasn't in Al Lutz's article but in the "Dateline Disneyland" update on the same website.

Just to answer my own question in case anyone else was interested it is at the Palace of the Legion of Honor and will be showing again tomorrow night. We just watched the live online broadcast and it was AMAZING. A WOC type light show projected onto the building. The website is worldofcolorroadshow.com
