Just trying to gage how many of us are interested in booking this each time you vacation or at least sometimes. If there is enough, then maybe we can all write to DVD and tell them what we want. Maybe a concierge of our own in the new building??

Do you think they will discontinue the option of concierge after a few years?

At first I didn't think I would. Then after I booked a cruise and had a few days left, but no active AP, I decided that we would be just enjoying the resort--what better way to do that than stay CL. As far as CL in the new bldg. there realy is no reason to duplicate services IMHO and that would end up with an increase in dues.

I want to stay concierge level at AKV. I voted in the old building, but honestly it could be in either building.

Same here.

And I tried to book concierge for December 1 but got a waitlist for it at 9:08 am on the very first day ever that concierge could be booked. Luckily I already had a cash concierge room booked. We're doing the sunset safari on 12/1 and the sunrise safari on 12/2 before heading to the Disney cruise that day.

I have stayed concierge before and loved it!! I was trying for January and it wsa booked but decided on it for Mothers day! Lets see, Davy Jones, concierge and the F & G festival! I can't think of a better Mothers day!!

I would also do either building .

I have a 6 night stay in a studio booked for May 31, 2008. We won't be doing the parks everyday, so I thought it would be a good time to try it. I'm really excited!:mickeyjum

We have a ressie for 1 week in March in a Concierge Studio. We just got back from a week in a 1BR SV and I'm hoping the Concierge makes up for the lack of extra space :)

I have from April 27 to May 2 booked for a 2 bedroom Concierge. We don't ahve the parks planned at all so far. but I wanted to stay someplace nice while tolling around FL.

I would love to stay concierge, but I don't want to give up a guaranteed savannah view to do it. I would like to be able to pay extra points to be guaranteed a Savanah View Concierge, then I would book concierge.

We are booked for Concierge in the Jambo house in January. I was going to book a Savanna View Studio ... but hubby really wanted to try the Club level. Thinking we had no chance of booking Club at the 7mos window, I said, "Sure, honey. I'll ask. But Savanna View is ok as a fallback?" He reluctantly agreed but with a serious pout :sad1:.

Well ... no Club Studio ... but they did have the 1BR. We are both looking forward to it! :cloud9:

Agree! That is why we would probably only book it during off season. We have stayed at AKL CL and enjoyed it, but we had a SV room. If I remember correctly the CL SV rooms were down one floor.

We have also stayed AKL CL before and it was a wonderful experience. We actually had a SV room on club level, it was glorious. I'm not sure there will ever be an off season for AKV Club level, although if there is, I might book it with the hopes of a SV. One can always hope!

Wow, I'm encouraged that at least a few of you have been able to succesfully book CL. We just bought AKV this week and I told DH to forget being able to stay Concierge (which we've done once before on an anniversary trip splurge) when I heard how few rooms there were. We weren't overly disappointed though as we're also ones who prefer a guaranteed Savannah View. But it would be nice to be able to do the Sunrise and Sunset Safaris again.

DW and I have made it a goal of ours to sample all of the concierge offerings at WDW at least once. Disney got us hooked on this initially by giving us a free upgrade at WL a couple of years back. Since then we have had at least one night (usually that's all we can afford!) at all of the concierge resorts except for Yacht Club and Polynesian -- but hopefully we will take care of that in the next couple of years. So far, we can unequivocally say that the concierge at AK was our favorite. We also enjoyed WL, but since then they have actually built a concierge louge -- when we were there it was just some serving tables set up on a walkway above the lobby, with some tables and chairs scattered around on that level. So I guess we need to try it again some time to see how it's changed! :thumbsup2

We also agree that our least favorite concierge (at WDW) was at the Grand Floridian -- the offerings were good, but we always felt that the staff were "hovering", watching for us to take a mis-step or something.

I will say that our worst-ever concierge experience was at the Grand Californian at Disneyland Resort. My daughter and her fiance had used his points to book a two-night stay, and listed DW and I on the room with them. DS, DDIL, DGS (6) and DGD (2) were staying at an off-property motel. During the day the two grandkids got a bit tired, so DW and I volunteered to take them up to our room for an afternoon break. We went with them into the concierge lounge to get some cookies and a soda. They were well behaved -- actually they fell asleep after one bite of cookie, so we just stayed there, DW and I reading the paper and snacking. The lounge was nearly empty, so we didn't see an issue.

Some staff person from the concierge desk came in and started asking us who we were and in what room we were staying. She left, apparently to check on us, and on returning she said, "there are no children listed as occupying that room, so they are not allowed in the concierge lounge. This lounge is for the privilege of paying guests only." I couldn't believe it! Here I thought the whole idea of concierge was to provide service. But I guess this CM saw it as her duty to be the "concierge enforcer" -- more like the "concierge Nazi."

Technically, I suppose she was correct, as our grandkids were not staying in the room; but it was uncomfortable to be made to feel like some kind of a thief over a couple of cookies!

We're staying savanna view 2 bedroom villa in March for my birthday. But today I was able to call and book a trip that I hope we'll be able to take next April for just DH and me- April 16-21 in concierge studio! Since I'll have just been there 4 weeks earlier, it won't matter as much if we don't happen to get savanna view. I'll risk it for an "extra" trip. I was pretty surprised though that concierge was still available at only 8 months out.

I'm new to DVC, is it posted somewhere, when the different classes of rooms of AKV were available to book?

Like how do you know when you can book into the new rooms, that will be released after just being built in the next few months, so you have the best chance of getting one? We are waitlisted for novemeber, so I'm wondering how it works: when do they let you book new rooms that are just being built.
But I'm confused as it sounds like people here have already booked rooms in conceirge when those rooms aren't completed yet. When I asked MS about this, they said they weren't released into the system until they were completed. So, I'm now thinking MS was incorrect if some people have already booked conceirge.

Thanks,
