How long has AKV been part of DVC? Is Kadani Village new? And what was available before the village? Was it just the main Hotel?

Orginally just the Animal Kingdom Lodge, a Disney hotel. That particular buiding's name is now Jambo in which the 5th fl (highest floor most places) and 6th fl (only above lobby and containing the concierge rooms) were converted into the DVC units, and first opened for DVC use in July 2007. (It started going on sale in Feb 2007.) Kidani, the new building (which is all DVC units), opened May 1, 2009.

Thanks for the info! Do you know about the "value" view on the points chart. Is that in the Jambo House or Kidani Village? I hear the rooms are a little smaller in Jambo House.

Jambo rooms won't give you the extra bathroom that Kidani will.

The "value" rooms are at Jambo only

Small number of "value" rooms all at front part of Jambo building; can have savanna (about 40% of the value rooms), pool (about 40%) or parking lot view (20%). They are "value" because they are smaller (studio is about 312 sq ft compared to 360 for others, 1BR about 625 sq ft compared to 712 for others at Jambo). When dealing with sq ft at those sizes, the differences in the number can fool you-- those differences are signifcant and values are not just a "little smaller."
