Hi! We typically take long trips and stay in a 1 bedroom at Kidani (LOVE KIDANI!!!). However, we are thinking about doing a quick 3 night getaway and want to stay in a value to save points. Has anyone stayed in both a value and a regular studio? What is the difference? Are there different views offered with the value that you can request? Any and all info is appreciated! THANKS!

value villas are distinguished by their smaller size, not the view. (there is no such thing as a "value view" villa.) there are a very limited number of value villas and they are all toward the front of jambo house.

value villas may have a view of the sunset savanna, pool or parking lot.

you may not request a view if you book a value villa.

As you walk in the door, the value rooms are 3 feet shorter, door to balcony. We find that extra 3 feet to be a small price to pay for the point savings and a potential savanna view.

value studio: 316 sq ft
other AKV studios: 366 sq ft

i love them for up to 2 adults...maybe plus a small child, but due to the size and large, chunky furniture, i wouldn't suggest them for a larger group. opinions and space needs vary...

You have been in a 1BR at Kidani. That room is 180 sg ft larger than a value 1BR; that is a huge difference. The value studio at 316 sg ft is the same size as a Port Orleans room. OK for two but add more and it becomes a matter of what you can personally tolerate. Also, values are not easy to get and you usually need the 11 month reservation window to get one.

When DVC first opened at AKV-Jambo, I did a trip where I stayed 2 nights in a standard view, then 3 nights in a value, then 2 nights in a savannah view. I planned it this way, specifically so that I could compare the different types of studio villas. Given a choice, I've gone with a value studio on every trip there since. The only problem is that value studios are so hard to get now! Both the standard studio and value studio were both pool view, but actually the value studio had the better, more straight-on, pool view. The best "bang for the buck-er points"
