Does anyone know if you can get a value studio with a cash reservation? I looked around on a few sites, but when pricing rooms, the value room doesn't show up.

sorry wrong you can rent the value studios - mousesavers has the information

saw one for rent AKL studio sept 11-15 for 450.00...dont know when u need it for...

Thanks for the info guys. I am a DVC member with a grand gathering in the works. We wanted to arrive the night before everyone else so we thought we would just stay in one of the value studios. We will be using all but one point to get the grand villa. I've already transferred in some points from another member to have the total I'll need to make the grand villa work so I won't have points for the value studio. Now, I know I can do a one time borrow of points for the value studio but I can only do that at 7 months and I'm sure they will all be gone then. So, that's why I'm wondering if they have some that are for cash reservations.

Found it on mousesavers....thanks SpiceyCat. I don't know why I didn't think to check there before!!

Does anyone know if the DVC discount on cash reservations is 25%?

It is a 25% discount, but it is not always available. You can call member services at the 11-month mark and try to book a value studio on cash. Kind of sours the home-resort advantage knowing that other members can book with cash at 11 months, but it is what it is. I took advantage of it last year by booking a HHI 1BR on cash at 11 months. Then, I was able to book the rest of the reservation on points at 7 months. (*We didn't own at HHI when I made the reservation...we do now:yay:)

The problem with the value studios is that they are few in number and they may all be gone by the time you are able to book them on cash. If you go through MS, you might be able to get one, but you just don't know.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of. I've considered staying at one of the All Stars for just that first night, but to be at the same resort to check out and check back in would be nice.
