AKV Value Studio request

I realize you can not request a view. But I have options on online checkin, would any of these be better to choose than the other? Pretty sure I read somewhere that they are all on one floor, so the upper floor or lower floor seem mute. How about near lobby, near elevator or Kudu trail? By the map I saw, it doesn't look like there are any studios on Kudu trail. I am so confused. Should I just leave it blank and go with luck of the draw??

I'm checking in to a value studio in about 58 days and that's what I'm going to do-leave everything blank. Is doing on-line check in still 10 days out or is it further now?

All values are on the fifth floor. None are on Kudo Trail. All are in the front part of the building not far from the lobby or an elevator. In other words, none of the requests you mention will accomplish getting a savanna or pool view, rather than parking lot view (which is really mostly a tree and foliage view).

I think online check in now appears on MDE at 60 days out. We got so we didn't bother to make a request for values. A couple of times we did ask for near elevator. But decided that wasn't really necessary as none of the rooms were that far away.

Those options are generic and used for everyone staying at Jambo. For a DVC value reservation, they will be ignored. It's luck of the draw no matter if you fill it out or leave it blank.

If my memory serves, there's only a 20% chance of a parking lot view. We had a value studio earlier this month and ended up on the sunset savanna.

I really am not worried about the view. We have never paid for a better view. I just didn't know that none of them even apply. Never stayed at AKL or AKV, so didn't realize they were all close to the lobby. That would have actually been my preference, if they weren't. Thanks.

Online checkin is 60 days Simba's Mom, maybe I will see you there. ;)

How about for my one night reservation for pool view AKL? Should I request anything on that one?

On-line check-in opens at 60 days from check-in for the WDW Resorts, 10 days from check-in for the beach resorts (HHI, VB & Aulani). On-line check-in is not available for the Disneyland Resorts.

Thank you for the info
We are thinking of renting an AKL studio value dvc
No view needed but would be nice
Do all value rooms still have a balcony ?

If you are thinking of renting one of the value units, you would be wise to get everything in place with an AKV owner long before the 11 month window opens. There are very few value units and as such they need to be booked right at 11 months. These rooms are also a little smaller than a regular studio so if you are planning on trying to maximize the sleeping accommodations, be aware that although these units sleep 4 they are little tight for anything more than two guests.

We just have 2 people this time, DH and myself. We secured a renter about 12 months out and she walked the reservation for a couple days. I was so excited to get it, because she told me they were very hard to get. BWV studio was our second choice, but I was thrilled to get our first. :)

Hopefully you will get lucky and get a savannah view room.

Thank you! I really will be happy to just be there even if our view isn't the best. We are not the type to spend a ton of time in the room. We will go exploring the resort and finding the animal viewing areas, if we don't have one of our own. :)

We booked 2 value studios at 11 months for last May and only added "travelling with". We had Savannah view and our rooms were right next to each other. We knew going in that we might not get a Savannah view but for that low point total, it didn't matter to us.

I booked a Value studio today, within the 7 month window!!! I could not believe it was available - at Easter week none the less!!! I had 14 points to burn and had to purchase 2 OTU points. So for 30.00 I was able to book a room - YAY!!! It makes me even happier that I can now cancel my one night at ASMo at 195.00/night :scared1:

The VERY NICE Cm who was helping me said that I do have a chance of Savannah view, which I didn't even know when booking! He said it was a little smaller and if we had big kids he wouldn't recommend it, but since the kids are small and it is only one night it should be ok. It still has a pull out sofa, correct? We move to BWV after that, and then VGF, so packing should be interesting :)

It does have a pull out sofa. The one that we had, last October, had the bed closer to the window, sofa closer to the bathroom. The only real drawback to the smaller size (room has 4 feet less depth from front to back) is that there is very little closet space, one armoire style unit, and very little empty floor space. I am not sure where you will slide the coffee table to pull out the sofa, it may have to go into the hallway. Anyway, congrats on the score, even if you don't get savannah view, there are so many places to see the animals, that you won't miss it.

That seems to be normal, that the bed is closer to the windows in the value rooms. The "coffee table" is really two tables, and we stacked them up in front of the door to the adjoining room, with enough room next to them for the suitcase. I was only there for three nights, so we didn't unpack. But, with the sofa pulled out, it was a little tight.

Thanks! I figured for one night we will survive, and if the kids want to see animals we will go out to the savannah, or the windows, or wherever. I just love it there, and the kids are so excited!!

If I may be a thread stealer for a moment. I've booked through using points from a nice DVC owner and I'm going in 12 days. I booked a Standard View. I'm in jambo house. I chose "kudo trail" on the on-line check in page. Upper floor. Any suggestions of how I might get something other than a rooftop - would love a savannah view... I know there are some that give partial savannahs. Would love some advice here as this is my first time at AKL

Unfortunately, like with value rooms, getting a savannah view (they call it "partial savannah" but nothing "partial" about it as far as I'm concerned!). I was fortunate enough to get a savannah view once so the next time I requested the specific room # "or room with similar view". Unfortunately that got me as far away as possible with the world's worst view. It's like they said "Oh-she's going to request a specific room? Well. we'll fix HER!"

My standard view-
