AKV Value, Reg or 1BR Value ....

Hi all, hopefully this is the right place to ask this. We are looking at bringing our niece with us for a trip to WDW. From your experience is a value studio big enough for 2 adults and a 13 year old? We don't really spend all that much time in our room and I figured if we got a value studio we'll at least have a chance to get a safari view without using the points knowing we aren't in the room much.

So yes I am placing another poll as it's the easiest way to see the numbers.

We are contemplating between a value studio, std studio or a value 1br knowing we spend very little time in our room.... thanks for your help!

I voted for the 1br value. That being said, you could definitely do the value studio with 3 people if you wanted to save points. For either, make sure you call at your 11 month booking window. The values(all sizes) tend to go quickly.

I also voted 1 bedroom value if you must do value. I agree that you need to book this at the 11 month window.

I would go for the value 1 bedroom. That's what I do with 3 adults. It was worth it, we even used the laundry in the room, and hadn't exected to need it for just a 2 night stay.

Value 1 BR - 629 sq. ft.
Value Studio - 316 Sq. Ft.

Kidani - 366 sq. ft.
Jambo - 365 sq. ft.

I voted for 1BR value. As you can see it is much larger than all of the other units you are comparing. There is more privacy for both you and your niece. The 1BR will give you some options for dining in the room cereal for breakfast, a simple lunch before or after the pool without really cooking (the cook needs a vacation too). However, if you would consider a regular 1BR at Kidani you would not only get a larger villa but a second bathroom as well. That might come in handy with a teenage girl along.

1 BR - Kidani - 807 sf.
Jambo - 710 sf.

You didn't say how many days you are booking. If you are used to staying in smaller rooms then you could do a studio or if you will only be there a few days.. Keep in mind the value studio is about three feet shorter than the regular studios.

I think we're leaning more toward a 1BR.. as close as my niece is to my hubby there's still that "I am a teenage girl and close the door thing" LOL

We all traveled together as a large group (me, hubby, bro, sil and their three kids) in August/Sept for our first ever DVC stay ((2BRs)) and that is where she sheepishly asked my hubby and I away from her parents and siblings ears if we'd consider taking just her LOL "I go on all the rides and am so easy going." we were informed Of course she said this after her older brother and mom had to sit out some rides due to not feeling so well after some rides and her little sister was just being a little sister lol who rode all the rides but as any 7 year old does gets moody and tired.

My husband, how I love him dearly, had no hesitation to tell her she was more than welcome to come with us It's amazing how close he got to those kids and how he is so open to sharing his vacation time with my side of the family.

It sounds like a wise decision to go with a 1BR. Just telling your niece that she has her own bathroom will probably please her. Here's a little pixiedust to make the trip go smoothly.

1 bedroom values only have 1 bathroom. All 1 bedrooms in Jambo only have 1 bathroom. To get 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom AKV, you have to be in Kidani.
