AKV Value or Concierge?

My husband and I tentatively have a "workcation" planned at the Animal Kingdom Villas next year. Our oldest will be in college, and our youngest is doing a Culture & Community Service trip to Thailand. As we are saving vacation time for a Mediterranean cruise in the summer, we thought it might be nice to take a 3-night cruise, just the two of us!, and then have a workcation at Disney World. I managed to snag a 1BR Value room for the week and am pretty happy about that because I do like paying as few points as possible! But we really do love having the 1BR, which is hard on the point cost, so a Value 1BR was the ticket to a good value. I and am crossing all our fingers that we get a Savanna View.

However, on a whim, I went to check our dates, and saw that the Kilimanjaro Club 1BRs for our date are available! Is spending 100 points more than the Value room worth it? Given that we will be working, it sounds like it would be more than lovely to have the Club lounge take care of a lot of the meals throughout the day, and then we'd be guaranteed a Savanna view.

If this were you, what would YOU do?

(Of course, by the time I make a decision, it could very well be gone.)

If you book one night of it, you get two days at the club.

Do it - sounds like the ideal trip to really be able to enjoy it!

Since it is a "workcation" staying at the resort, you will get to enjoy the club lounge to its fullest extent.
With Disney meal price, it could be worth a lot.

Unlike cash club level rooms at AKL - which do have savanna views - you are not guaranteed a savanna view w/ an AKV DVC club level villa. W/ a DVC AKV club level villa you’ll be on the 6th floor where the lounge is & your villa will either overlook the pool/roof or the Sunset savanna. As w/ value villas (where you could end up overlooking sunset savanna, the parking lot, or the pool/roof,) it’s luck of the draw as to which view you’ll get.

Unlike cash club level rooms at AKL - which do have savanna views - you are not guaranteed a savanna view w/ an AKV DVC club level villa. W/ a DVC AKV club level villa you’ll be on the 6th floor where the lounge is & your villa will either overlook the pool/roof or the Sunset savanna. As w/ value villas (where you could end up overlooking sunset savanna, the parking lot, or the pool/roof,) it’s luck of the draw as to which view you’ll get.

And since the Club level rooms are on a higher floor, even if you get a savanna view it's harder to see the animals because you're on s higher floor. Those rooms are way at the end so in the past the animals wouldn't even wander down that far, so they started putting food down there to attract the animals.

The only issue is that because this is a work-cation, we need the room all day to work.

I’m up for that, but my husband might kill me to move us too frequently. Also I’d need to figure out where to work during the day from 11am-4pm when we don’t have a room.
