AKV - Sept 09 at 7 month window

We are planning a family trip for my DW's family, this will include her 2 DSis & families. We will have a total of 11 people, 6 adults and 5 kids ranging from 5yrs to 15 yrs). We are looking at a GV @ SSR (home resort) which we can book this October (11 months). My wife wants to stay somewhere else so we are also looking at the AKL and won't be able to book that until March (7 months). Given that Kidani is opening in May how hard will it be to book at the 7 month window for Sept 09.

I would reserve the GV @ SSR at your 11 month window to make sure you have it. Then call back at the 7 month window to inquire about AKV. You probably will have to waitlist for a GV @ AKV.

GVs anywhere can be very difficult to get 7 months out any time of year. You will be going in slow DVC time (Sep) and will be calling for time when Kidani will be in the opening stages, with second phase opening Sep 1, 2009, and thus have many rooms available at once and might get lucky. Also, Feb is 7 months out from Sep, not March. Note, you do have a different option at AKV -- get two 2BRs. For Sun through Thurs night during that time the point cost for two 2BRs savanna view is less than a GV and possibility of getting a 2BR is significantly higher than getting a GV.

We are in the same boat- will book a GV in OKW (home resort) and are for AKV BUt are afraid we son't be able to get it- but I didn't even think of the 2 bedroom option...
Could you reserve a 2BR villa and a studio nearby or that even might connect somehow in AKV?

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to get a GV but someone else suggested a 2br and 2 studios and use the 2br as the meeting/hang out place for everyone. Then we can hope the 3 rooms are close to each other.
