AKV Room Request

We are checking into AKV in two weeks! We have a standard one bedroom at Jambo House. Any chance of being able to see a savannah from our room, if so what room request? We'd be fine if not (obviously otherwise we'd have booked the savannah), but our three year old DA would love it. Would proximity to lobby be a better request & just use the animal viewing areas? One reason we didn't do savannah is I'm afraid my son would never want to leave the room! We'll have a car & I've heard the walk from room to car can be really long.

Also, we have two different reservations, the first on our own points and the second (also AKV standard at Jambo) rented from another owner. Is there a chance we could stay in the same room and not have to move? If so how do I attempt this? Is it too late? TIA!

Yes, there's a chance. I had a real nice studio along a savannah with a standard view reserved, and apparently that whole section was of rooms was "reclassified". People call them "partial" savannah view, but there was nothing "partial" about mine as far as I was concerned. I wish I knew the secret to requesting one-for me it was just great luck.

If you have not already done so and the names on the two reservations are the same, you should contact MS immediately and have them link your two reservations. That will assure that you will not have to change rooms.

Majority of standard views are pool view at Jambo and the pool is on the right side of the U-shaped building and that side is Zebra Trail. All the other standard views are previous savanna view rooms converted to standard and thus have savanna view. A number of the converted savanna view to standard view rooms are along Kudo trail, the left side of the U-shaped buidling. Thus, you might want to try requesting a room along Kudo Trail.
