Back in November, I reserved a 1BR value for June 7-11 (4 nights). DH and I had an agreement that this would be cancelled if I couldn't fly us to MCO for less than $700 total (for 4 people and luggage). Well, I found airfare but we'd need to fly in on the 6th. So, in December, I added a value studio for Saturday night.

My original confirmation for our studio stay says "Ded Studio Value Jambo". This was great because I knew that at least for one night, we would NOT have a parking lot view.

Since then, our flight times changed (yeah!) and we now arrive at 2pm instead of 8:30pm. I elected to add the DxDDP to our one-night reservation. I just received the "modified" confirmation in the mail and now our room says "Studio Value Jambo."

So, now I am wondering...

1) Should I call and request the dedicated studio?

or...

2) Perhaps they are thinking ahead and maybe planning on us moving to the "other half" of the lock-off for our 1BR stay?

I highly doubt that the adjoining 1BR would be vacant that night, but that would be awesome! If I could go down to the front desk at 7am and checkin to our 1BR and it ended up being the adjoining room, we could be proud occupants of a 2BR for 4 hours!:lmao:

Although it would make sense, I don't think they are planning this far ahead. Did I maybe lose my dedicated studio because someone wanted a 2BR, and there may have actually been one available this late in the game? I can't think of any other reasons why they would change it.

Call MS to ask them.

I read in a couple other posts that they have eliminated the dedicated value studio category. So you may still end up in a dedicated but it's not a guaranteed booking category any longer.

My thought it that they were running into too many booking categories at AKV and probably elected to eliminate any that did not have an effect on occupancy or bed configuration - ie, you get a queen bed and a pull out in all the studios so why have a dedicated and a lock-off category.

That's the way 1 bedrooms are handled at other resorts and it seems that only two bedrooms really have a need for the different categories.
