Hi all! I went to Kidani village this past summer and was able to make requests for which savannah, floor... I just tried to make a reservation for this upcoming April at Kidani and was told by two different CM's that they do not assign or take requests until I arrive at the resort. Is that a new policy or did I just happen to get two CM's that don't know what they are talking about? Should I e-mail my requests? call again?? I really want to stay on the Sunset Savannah to see the giraffe's and would at least like to request that. I know the entire "a request is not guaranteed" but can we still at least make the requests? Thanks everyone in advance.

When I made my ressie for Nov. I was able to indicate requests at AKV. ;)

Someone else reported the same with an AKV reservation in the last month or so, but I *thought* it was determined that it was because they had a value villa booked, but I can't remember for sure.

Or maybe it's one rogue MS person telling people that!

I am staying at Kidani in April 2011 in a studio/savannah view and they took my request. Not a value studio.

Just today, I called to double-check my requests for an upcoming vacation-split stay at BCV and AKV-Jambo, value villa. In both cases, the CM confirmed my requests. And although I said that I knew they were only requests, not guarantees, she said she was glad to have them "so that they know what you like when assigning rooms".

Our request was close to lobby but not on "top of lobby" in terms of bus noise..

We were not as "close to lobby" as we would have liked to be...Great stay though!!!!!:cool1::cool1: Very long walk to lobby!Think they "made" up for it because our 2 BR had a fabulous view of the pool, 3rd floor!:goodvibes

Next time, I will request 2nd floor, very close to lobby..Maybe that will do the trick!

Have a fabulous time! Great resort!!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. It was a savannah studio that I booked. I guess i will try to call back and make my requests again.

Stayed at Jambo House in May in a Value Studio.

I put in a request for "Close to Lobby". We got exactly what I wanted, including Savannah view. Our room was the second room on the right on Ostrich trail. Great location, short walk everywhere.

What I was told is if the resort has a booking category like "savanna view", then all other categories can not make a request for that view.

According to MS this reduces the contact time at check in and the number of upset members who didn't get their request.

Personally believe that all too often these days you get an MS rep who does not know what the rules actually are and misinterprets ones they been told. For example, it was previously reported that you can no longer make view requests when reserving value rooms. That one may actually be true but the result is that there will be MS reps that understand that one to mean you can't make any requests for any rooms.

I'm not sure there's any truth to the no requests for value studios. I stayed at Jambo in a value studio in May and requested and received a savannah view. Figured I got some pixie dust:wizard:

I am staying at BCV in October and just called and put in some requests the other day. While I was talking to the CM I asked if I could put some requests down for my December trip too and she was happy to take them. I am staying in a value studio at Jambo again in December, and when I told her I wanted to request a savannah view (and that I understood it was only a request) since I loved it so much in May, she actually looked up my room number from May and added that specific room number to the request.:thumbsup2

I really think it depends on who you talk to. If a CM won't take your requests then I would just call back.

Hope everyone gets what they want:goodvibes

Adding a specific room number might not be such a good idea though. When the room dispatcher gets to your request he will look up if the room will be available and there is a good chance that it's not. Then he won't have any idea why you wanted that specific room. On the other hand, if you give them more generic requests, it gives them more space to work with.

I agree. That cast member did NOT do you any favors by requesting a specific room.
