AKV Question

HI All,

Can anyone tell me if there are concierge level savannah view rooms at AKV?
We looked at the point chart and saw concierge level points listed, and I saw savannah view points listed but I can't seem to find any info as to whether or not the concierge level rooms actually have a savannah view....


I stopped downstairs to ask the DVC rep on the 4th floor at the Contemporary (We're leaving BLT tomorrow) and she had no idea - she said she recommended we call MS but I thought some of my Dis friends would have the answer

I'm working on plans for our next trip and DH would like to try concierge, but I think that if we do AKV we should do the savannah view...

I think conceirge rooms are at Jambo. They are on the 5th or 6th floor, in short supply and are NOT known for great views...from what I have read here. They can be also hard to get. There are only 10 or so which is why you have to get them right at the 11 month mark if you can.

All value rooms are at Jambo.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Like THV, WL the week of Christmas and value rooms at Jambo....conceirge goes quickly and you need to really own points at that resort---it would be next to impossible to get them at the 7 month mark.

we own at AKV so I think we'll be OK should we decide to do concierge, but it's going to be a very short trip so I wonder if I should just shoot for the SV room - Kidani is the villas "section" and Jambo is the "main" hotel area, correct?

Toddylu is right. There are only 5 - 2BR Lockoffs in total, all on the 6th floor with the CL lounge. I believe 6 have the Savanna views, with the other 4 overlooking the pool. The roof overhangs onto the balconies, so the views are not perfect. Personally, I love staying CL at AKV. But if you are looking for the best vistas possible, I'd go with an actual savanna view.

Disney took away the ability to make view requests for the Jambo DVC Concierge rooms. You get what you get.

Concierge has 5 2BR lockoffs for a possible total of 10 rooms. Two of the 2BRs face the pool. The other three, including one handicap accessible 2BR, face a savanna. The views are not considered the best and getting savanna view is luck of the draw. If you want concierge services reserve concierge; if you want savanna view reserve savanna view not concierge.

I am hoping to be able to get a 1 br Savannah view at Kidani at the 7 month mark. We are looking at the first week of October, 2012, checking in on the 29th of September.

I will be making ressies at BLT at 11 months, just in case!

Just realized I might have misunderstood and you were just clarifying that Jambo is the section that was previously the AK hotel and that Kidani was the new DVC addition - that is correct.

There are DVC villas in Jambo too. DVC is the 5th & 6th floor and it is only the concierge rooms on the 6th floor. Jambo has the value and concierge villa categories as well as standard and savannah view. Kidani has savannah and standard views. Also, Jambo does not have any dedicated 2BR's, only lockoffs since the DVC villas there were converted from existing hotel rooms.

If the view is important then book a savannah view. If you want the amenties of concierge then book it. We had a 1BR concierge a couple of years ago and received the pool view side. Here is our view:

Make sure you make the BLT reservations at 11 months out. It will be very hard getting AKV Concierge. If someone books the two bedroom, that takes one studio and one onebedroom out of inventory.

Thank you. I am not interested in the concierge, just savannah view 1 BR at 7 mos. While I'd love to do concierge sometime, I don't see that so much right now.
