I think I read about this in the past, but can't remember...so posting again to be sure.

We will be staying AKV the week after November. My DS is all about the pools so barring any really cold outside temps, he will want to be in the pool at some point each day.

I understand temps in November are generally in the 70's (in our world that's warm, warm, warm ;) -- but the main concern is really the temp of the pool water. I thought I remember that the pools are heated -- can anyone confirm this? And if so, anyone know what temp they are heated to? DS won't care - he will swim in water of any temp... it's mom and dad who can't! :rotfl:

Thank for any info...

Do you mean early December since you are staying "week after November"? Early December can vary. Very often mid 70s but then you can get just 50s or 60s some days and last year there was a cold front that lasted a week or more where temps stayed mostly in the 50s in day and 30s at night. When it gets cold like that, they actually will close the pools at AKV.

And resort pools are heated although sometimes there can be problems with the system. Don't know target temp.

Pools should be heated into the 80's.(Of course there seem to be occasional reports of somewhat cooler temps as Disney implements more cost cutting..)

But, during one unseasonably cool November trip, I got back from a park in the evening, temp is about 50. (Real temps were 40-65 that trip) ,and you see "steam" rising off the pool surface, and then notice a few brave kids swimming.
I'm sure swimming is fine, but I can't imagine getting out :)

As others have mentioned it is cold but as long as you stay in up to your neck you'll be fine, I've done this with my niece on many trips. The only other thing you need to owrry about is the run to the towels and then inside after getting out....

Being from CT...you can always pack DS's ice skates ;)

I believe WDW pools are targeted to heat to 84F....no worries.
We regularly visit in Jan and find the pools to be fine.

The pool temps are kept in the low 80s. The air temp could be from the 50s to high 70s depending when you go. We stayed at AKV and Kidani twice - Thanksgiving wk, and Christmas wk. Both times there was record cold and frost. Temp at 7am was 29 degrees a couple of days. But a few days later it was in the 70s and warm enough to swim in the pools. So plan on using the beautiful AKV pools!

Thanks!! Info is definitely helpful! Pools in the 80's?? ... we just swam in water where the pool temp was 70... so I think we can manage the AKL pools. Hopefully the outside temps will cooperate. :)
