AKV pictures and models...what day?

So how soon do you think there will be pictures of the AKV on the DVC site?

And do you think the models will open on Thursday? Will there be models at both AKL and SSR?

I remember the pictures (not drawings) of BCV were posted on the DVC site sometime shortly before sales opened. Sales opened Sunday morning but we were able to see the pictures before that. I can no longer remember if it was after business close on Friday, Saturday at midnight???? I just remember being so glad that the green used on the exterior of BCV was not a major part of the interiors.....it would have been a deal killer for us!

So how soon?

Pat, I agree that there could not be pictures of the buildings quite yet....other than the lodge of course. But I would want to see room decor before a purchase if I were buying.

Does anyone remember when pictures of the rooms went up for the other resorts? I remember drawings of SSR were up for some time before actual pictures.

they send us the pictures before it got changed on the website - if I remember right.

Hope that do that again - that means everything could go out this week (okay I am dreamin') and we could start getting it next week.

I still haven't made up my mind. really want Cont badly and if there is a chance of it being offered in the next few years - then I can't buy AKL.

despite my love of animals.. I need to win a lottery - oh yea- Alabama doesn't have that either.

I think they'd at least have the model rooms ready if they are selling Feb 1st?? My memory is failing on the last few DVC's but I don't remember them selling based off a sketch.

We're flying down in two weeks and I hope they have a room ready by then. Either SSR or AKV--I don't care where!

Do you think it will be hard to trade in there? I know we'll enjoy stating there on occasion but was hoping to just trade in.

Still eagerly awaiting pictures of the room. On the DVC site, it looks to me like there is now space for one more name on the list of Disney vacation resorts.

Well, we have actually thought about that as well, and I think that is unknown right now. I'm sure at first it will be difficult with only the refurbed rooms in the main lodge available, but once they build the AKV proper, I'm assuming it will be easier.

Agreed. I'm actually hoping I might be able to swing a couple nights stay for Oct '08 at the 7 month window.

It's a place I'd love to try (more so than any of the other DVCs except the rumored CRV), but I'm not married to the idea of staying there every trip.

All the Guides I talked to were pretty confident AKV would have enough rooms to make availability plentiful. In fact, one told me this was the way Disney was headed having "learned from the mistake of smaller BCV-style resorts".

don't know ask my guide this question yesterday. She reply she doesn't know. DVC is not saying when the model rooms will be open.

Thanks for the update on the models. I agree that you would think they would open them ASAP.

And you were right about the flyer coming out although it doesn't sound as if it has pictures. Hoping ours is in todays mail.

So now that CRV is a good guess, will you be waiting for that? I think we will although I do hope to try AKV sooner rather than later.
