Hello!
We are staying at AKV Kidani, two one bedroom units, in a couple weeks. There wasn't a way for us to indicate that we'd like rooms near one another when I did online check in, but I did not the request with MS when making the reservation. Has this been a problem for any of you at all? Getting rooms near one another I mean.

How is the bus service at Kidani? Does it stop at Jambo first always?
Will the Kidani pool be closed more than the 11-13th of February? I have only seen this listed on the MDE app on my phone, but want to set expectations with the kiddos since the weather is looking good for possible swimming.

Is it easy to get over to Jambo for a breakfast at Boma?

Anything else newbies to AKV should know?

The park buses stop at Kidani first then Jambo before heading to the parks. DTD bus stops at Jambo first then Kidani so you can use any park bus to get over to Jambo and the DTD bus to get back to Kidani if you don't wish to walk. There's also a courtesy van that runs back and forth between the resorts.

I don't know about the pool but remember that you can also use the pool at Jambo if the one at Kidani is closed.

If you want the rooms to be close together I believe you want MS to make a note that you are "traveling with.....". There are reports of good success with that. We only have done it once at BCV and the rooms were on the same spur and same floor although there were several rooms in between but BCV is smaller and wouldn't have as much leeway with room assignments as I imagine Kidani would.

We were not successful with our request to have our rooms near one another during our stay at AKV last October. I had also requested rooms near the lobby, and we got that request for our 2bdrm (we also had a studio), which ended up being more important. My sister and BIL stayed in a studio and arrived a few days after us, and their room was quite far from ours, but we didn't make an issue of it. My BIL ended up being sick most of the trip, so my sister would just come over to our room.

We found the bus service to be great for the most part. It stops at Kidani then Jambo on the way to the parks and Jambo then Kidani on the way back. In terms of getting to Jambo, we found the walk easy and also took advantage of the shuttle a few times. We walked back to AKV after dinner at Boma, and that was definitely a walk I needed to do! Love Boma!

The refillable mug was a great deal for us since our room was close to the lobby. We also took advantage of the breakfast sandwiches for sale at the shop in the mornings. Don't miss the night vision goggles on the savanna after dark. Kids thought that was cool! I loved sipping a lava smoothie (non-alcoholic) by the pool while the kids swam at night. We had issues with mosquitoes during the outdoor movie, but that was in October. We loved AKV!
