TRAVEL DATES - SUN. NOV 8TH - WED. NOV 11TH
TRAVEL PARTY - ME
, AND THREE COUSINS. DH'S AND KIDS STAYED HOME
Originally I had a one bedroom savannah view at Kidani booked. I waitlisted for a two bedroom, dropped off the waitlist the week before, and called everyday. The day before arrival, I got the 2 bedroom! Talk about pixie dust! It was a savannah view and my requests for close to the lobby, second floor were met. I didn't tell my cousins til the key was in the door, and we ran around the room like kids checking out the three bathrooms, the jacquzzi tub, the three flat screens, etc., but when we opened the curtains and saw the animals just out on the savannah! wow! We really were like kids running to and from with the cameras! It was great! Room was sparkling clean and perfect!
Day one: Arrived at the villas about 1:30. Room was ready!
Received our bags right away. Took about 100 pictures off the balcony of the animals, and headed down to Sanaa for our 2:15 lunch ADR. I see what you guys mean about the short ribs.....yumm, yumm, yumm! All the food was delicious, not a complaint among us, and the service was great. We had a window table and the truck had just come out into the savannah and left branches and leaves for the animals to eat, so while we were dining there were the zebra, and ostreich and giraffe! It was wonderful!
After lunch we walked over to Jambo for our 3:45 meet time for the Wanyama Safari! It was a wonderful experience. We all really really loved it! I highly recommend it. We couldn't believe how close we were to the animals! Awesome!
The tour was followed by a signature dining experience at Jiko, with a wine pairing. All the food was delicious!! I like two of the three wines. We had a group of 7, the four of us and three other women. The chef came out with each course and explained what the food was and what it was made with. It was really a great dinner! Sorry, no pics of that
After dinner, we walked back and enjoyed hanging out in our room for the evening, visiting with each other.
Day two coming up next....
