I read that you cannot walk from AKV to the park. What are the transportation options? I am assuming a bus/shuttle. How long does this take?

We were hoping to go into the park in the AM, return to the hotel around lunch, and then return to the park again in the evening. Is this a reasonable expectation? We don't want to spend too much in transition.

Very very quick bus ride - 5 mins at most

5 minute ride, but average wait time for the bus is 20 minutes. Expect more like 30-40 min wait to be safe (that is my luck)

As the PP said, the bus ride itself is pretty short from AKV to AK, but there can be a wait for a bus. The general rule of thumb is to allow about 45 minutes for any Disney transportation. This allows for the actual time of the ride, loading/unloading time, and time waiting for a bus (especially if you just miss one). The bus (with the exception of DTD) go from park to AKV to AKL to park.
