Our family is taking an "Emergency Trip" to WDW. Our home resort is BLT and have not been members long enough to try other DVC resorts, so Kidani here we come. Is there a thread or can someone recommend room requests for "Standard" view? It doesn't look like there are really any "parking lot Views". May like close to bus stop (is it noisy?). Thanks!!!

At Kidani there are definitely parking lot views, and that's standard. You could request pool view, but that runs the risk of far from the lobby. The standard recommendation for Kidani is near the lobby, given the loooong hallways.

It's Jambo where standard views overlook the pool.

I thought the parking at Kidani was under the villas, so you wouldn't really have a parking lot to view.

The lots also run around the outside of the villas as well so you do still see them. The pool is also not that far from the lobby so if you do get a pool view the walk won't be all that bad. Keep in mind the pool is surrounded by trees so it more of a parking lot / splash pad / trees view. :-)

There is a road with an employee parking area that about 40% of the standards can see. Request pool view -- pool is in the distance but you will be in an area where views are not bad. Most standards are not hugely far from lobby. There are now a few standards that used to be savanna view in an area far from the lobby and far from the lobby at Kidani is about 1/3 mile.

Thanks, this is great information! We'll have to decide for the walk with perhaps a better view vs close to transportation! Is there a floor request that is better? I am not certain how many floors there are in Kidani?

Our view was total parking lot and I hated it. It totally ruined the whole vibe of the room. Seeing the stripes from the parking spaces through the sheers was terrible. If we ever go back to Kidani I will definitely spend the extra points and get savanna view.

Standard views are better the higher you are, savanna views the lower you are although high floors are fine too for savanna view. Kidani has four floors, 2 through 5, with rooms (first floor is the under building parking garage).

I don't really care about the view we get in two weeks.

Here's the way I see it........ looking at a parking lot at Kidani for a few minutes a day is way better than looking at the best view I have here in Rochester, NY in January. :sad2:

Anyone want to argue that one? :lmao:

Agreed. Wish more people would view it like that!:thumbsup2

We stayed in a 1 bedroom, floor 2, right above the walkway to the busses and we had NO noise problems (busses are far enough away from the rooms that nobody should hear them too much). Actually, we had fun watching the people coming back from the parks all tired. It was a great room, close to everything.

As to views, if it does not matter get standard, if it does book Savannah, there is no reason for either to be the wrong choice or for anyone to say, "I wish more people did not care about view" :confused3

The wrong thing is to book standard and then gripe about the view.

Everyone should book what they want and then be happy with their choice. For me it would make a difference. I have no desire to be at Kidani and look at a parking lot either.

I do agree that if you get standard ask for an upper floor it will be quieter.

I will be at Kidani for 4 nights over Easter and no matter how you slice it, it's better than the view here in the Toledo suburbs.
I did ask for a higher floor, though. If we want to see the animals we will go to the lounge area. Our "hotel hang out" day is our check-in day.

I do agree, "you get what you get and you don't get upset!". However, if there is anything I can do to reduce my walk to the bus and get a quiet room, then I'll try it!

For Me, a day at WDW with any room view is better than any day at home!!
I think we will request an upper floor near bus! Thanks all for the info!

I think I had that same room! Or close to it. A great location and it was pretty fun watching all of the goings-on in the front of the resort - that place sure does stay busy.

In my two visits at Kidani, I have stayed in five room categories. Two were savannah view and three were standard. Of the standards, I had pretty nice views and short walks to the lobby. Of the savannahs, I had one gorgeous view, one terrible view and two loooonnnggggg walks to the lobby.

From my history, I would rather stick with the standard views. That being said, in January 2013, I will be traveling with friends who have small children who would love looking at the savannah - might risk a savannah view again but will definitely ask to be close to the lobby.

Have fun with your choices - I absolutely love Kidani, even with their long hallways.
