I have booked us for a Savannah view at Kidani in February. My DD3 loves animals and is begging to stay here. I can't say that I have researched much on this resort. I have stayed at AK before becoming a DVC member and enjoyed my stay. I guess after booking, I have a question that maybe you all can answer. How far is it from Kidani to get to Mara for counter service? That is something we utilize a lot with a little one and I didn't really think about the distance.

We have only stayed at VWL and OKW so far as DVC members. VWL was so quick and easy to get to the counter service where as OKW we had to drive and it just wasn't as convenient.

I guess it all comes down to wondering if I should request Jambo instead of Kidani?

I have read that depending to where your room is at at Kidani it could take 10 to 25 minutes to walk to Mara from you room. If you plan on eating at Mara alot I would stay in Jambo house. I don't think you can request it though. I believe that Kidani and Jambo are diffrent booking categories.

I'm not sure what room size you are staying in but a one beedroom in Kidani has two bathrooms where a one bedroom at Jambo has only one bathroom.

Jambo is considerably closer to Mara (and other food choices)...and more accessible w/out weather issues (i.e., going out in the rain or extreme heat)...but Kidani isn't all that far...it's about a 10-minute walk (in the open) from lobby door to lobby door...another couple of minutes to get from the lobby to Mara...

You can also take a bus (all park buses stop at Jambo after picking up at Kidani...but Downtown Disney buses reverse that, so you want a park bus on the way to Jambo, and a Downtown Disney bus on the way back to Kidani)...

Lots of grumbling (even among people who are loving Kidani) about the lack of food choices at Kidani...the sit-down restaurant, Sanaa, is wonderful...but it's one restaurant, and it's sit-down. There is a small selection of food in the tiny lobby convenience store...and you can get -pool-side "room service" ... hours of operation and selection are fairly limited...

For us, we'd choose Jambo for the convenience of food options and the better and greater choices at the resort store...it's an easy walk to Kidani if we want to enjoy Sanaa (and we do) or the pool area over there...but there's more frequently a reason ("need"?) for convenience relative to food/convenience store choices...so we have booked our two AKL stays at Jambo...

Good luck w/your choices!
