AKV - Kidani 2-bedroom Savanna - which room?

Hi all ... we will be staying at AKV Kidani in a 2 bedroom Savanna ... any suggestions on which room, which floor, etc. to ask for ? From what I hear, floors 2 to 3 near the lobby seem to be most popular and going through TP to send the request ... any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Make a request through MS as follows:

1. Lead request (note that requests are dealt with in order you give them) should be Sunset savanna view if you want to see giraffes and zebras. That is likely to be granted because more than 80% of the savanna view rooms overlook Sunset. The smaller savanna, Pembe, does not have giraffes and zebras.

2. Second request should be a more specific location request. You mention near the lobby. If you get that, the view will be fine and you will be close to restaurants and store and a reasonable walk to pool and bus station. However, it is the most popular request made at Kidani, resulting in many who request it not getting it, and when a location request cannot be met, you are placed in any available room open at the time, which is often far from the lobby, and, at Kidani, a building which is close to 2/3's of a mile long, far from the lobby can be extremely far. A suggested better request is to be either (a) near the Rafiki elevator, which is on the north wing -- the lobby faces west -- which, if granted would provide shortest walk to a a pool gate and a fairly reasonable walk to lobby and bus station, or (b) near the Timon elevator on the south wing, which provides easy access to the bus station and a fairly reasonable walk to lobby and pool.

3. Many also request lower floor for more direct view of animals. Tthere are four floors, 2-5, which have rooms. The first floor has the restaurant under the lobby, but otherwise is mainly an under-building parking lot . Personally, I am fine with any floor including the more panoramic view you get with high floor. In any event, floor level should be listed after, not before, the area location request.

You should not attempt to use the location request page that is provided as part of online check-in. Doing so can wipe out any prior requests made through MS (and probably TP). and the choices listed border on the ridiculous, e.g., you can request to be near an "elevator," but there are three elevators along each of the two wings, and requesting near an elevator, without being able to name the particular elevator, can result in your being placed in any savanna view room in the building.

I always make the opposite request we request lower floor near the zazu elevator. That way it is a really really short walk to Jambo so you get the best of 2 resorts
