AKV Jambo Room Request

Hi! Wanting to request a pool view at Jambo for our upcoming trip. I know the room number I want. Should I be requesting the room number and also pool view for a backup if thats not available? Or should I just put pool view on the request as I would be thrilled with any pool view? Also, am I more likely to get my request if I list two choices even though the specific room is a pool view so it's not really a different request? Sorry for all of the questions this is only the second time I've used my membership. Thanks for any help.

I'd just request pool view. Requesting specific room numbers is hazardous.

Assuming you are talking about a DVC reservation, pool view is something you can end up with only with standard view or value room reservation and not savanna view. If you have a value reservation, you cannot request view and it is luck of the draw. If you have a standard view reservation, you can request pool view and there is no other request to make to have highest chances of getting a pool view. You can try a specific room number as first request and pool view as second but that won't really increase your chances of getting pool view. Also, requesting a specific room number is the least likely request to be met but no harm in trying.

A question is why are you so passionate on pool view if you have standard view. Due to a conversion done several years ago of certain savanna views with not the best of views being converted to standard view, a little less than half the standards at Jambo are now pool view and all the rest of the standards are savanna view. In other words, you mitght want to consider a request like a "room along Kudo trail" if you want savanna view instead of pool view.

Sorry for the lack of info.... we do have standard view. AKV is not our home resort so I am unfamiliar with the views that come with standard. We do typically enjoy looking over the pool but I was unaware that the rest of the standard rooms were partial Savannah view. Is this the case? With standard view am I either getting pool view or Savannah view?

Yes standard view at Jambo gives you either pool or savanna view. At Kidani, standard view can result in street, parking lot, front entrance,pool or Pembe savanna view (as a result of some savanna views that were converted).

In fact, at Jambo there are only two rooms, two 2BR lock-offs, that have anything other than savanna or pool view and both of those are value rooms.

Thanks, love a simple concise answer I can remember. We are in a std 1BR at Jambo in Feb and would prefer a savanna - we have stayed Jambo Savanna view before and loved it.

Call and have it noted on your reservation. They used to have Kudu trail as an option in online check in but that's gone these days & there's only very generic upper/lower floor (worthless w/ AKV Jambo as you'll be on 5th floor in standard view villa,) near transportation, etc. type choices.
