AKV Jambo: Can the sleeper chair and sofa be open at the same time?

I'm looking at my lower point options for our family of 4. Usually we get a 2 bedroom since my 2 girls can't sleep in the same bed. (the 6yo is a kicker and the 11yo has sleep difficulties)

My question is..

Can the sleeper sofa and sleeper chair be open at the same time in the AKV Jambo 1 bedroom villas? Is there any space between them?

Thanks. Looking back at my question it sort of sounds silly, and I guess it really is, of course they would both be able to open. (one would hope!) A while back someone did mention how tight it either was or might be with both open.

I guess my question should have been... How difficult is it to have both open at the same time? Is there any space at all to walk between them?

The sofa and chair aren't bolted down so you can move them somewhat. There is going to be room to walk around them, but not a lot.

we stayed in a 1bdrm @ AKV and we found that there was very little room to walk in between the pull out sofa and the chair. as a matter of fact, there isn't much room at all in the living room once these are pulled out. u'd proly be better off putting the coffee table over by the dining table a little bit or right along the patio door.
we loved AKV's because of the resort as a whole but we also got spoiled by the spacious rooms at OKW.

I agree. You will have space to have them both open, but it will be tight. You really have to move the furniture around each night to make it work. We had to move the coffee table, and chair to the dining table.

In everything but the value level rooms, yes.

In the value level rooms, both pieces of furniture are present...but there isn't enough room to open them both up at the same time.

It was tight, but I had no issue walking between the two when fully open. the coffee table was put along the "kitchen" side of the pulled out sofa. There isn't a LOT of room, but the two fold out and then fold up, pretty easily. We left the blankets and sheets on when we'd fold them up, actually. 5 min at night, 5 min in the AM.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. Is there a sleeper chair in the value rooms? I was under the impression that the sleeper chair is only available in the Standard, Savannah and Concierge rooms.:confused3

I learn something everyday at these boards.:)

Apparently it is there. Why....nobody knows.

Occupancy on those rooms IS, in fact, only 4. But from the reports of those staying in the rooms, the sleeper chair was put in the value villas.

But there isn't enough room to open both the chair, and the sofa...so it appears the only thing it offers by being there is a choice of which one to use.

Then if the sleeper chairs are included the value rooms, do you think that it is safe to assume that they will be included in the GV's at AKV as well?

Personally, I wouldn't assume anything...but would wait on someone to report one way or the other.

We all assumed the chairs would NOT be in the value villas. It seemed safe assumption, given the occupancy limit and size restrictions. Turns out...they are.

You'd likewise ASSUME the chairs are probably in the GV's, simply so they could use all the same furniture. But considering there are some differences in the GV setup...and maybe in the furniture desin, I'm not sure it's a safe assumption, especially now.

If they are, they are not mentioned on the AKV Accommodations page.

I hear ya, Lisa. We were having a similar discussion asbout this subject on the "max occupancy" thread. While the sleeper chair is not listed in the AKV accommodations description, the sleeper chair is shown in the room layout for the GV in the new planner. I had asked if you could book 5 adults in a 1 br and 9 adults in a 2br, then why couldn't you book 13 adult guests in a GV at AKV, if there are sleeping accommodations for 13 adults. But, I'm not trying to turn this thread into an occupancy discussion!

Perhaps, in the end, we will find out that the sleeper chairs that are in the value rooms were put there mistakenly and were really supposed to go in the GV's!

Rob, it looks like you are making a reasonable assumption, we will just have to wait and see if it is an accurate assumption.
