I think the layout is that the bathroom is accessed from the living room area and not the bedroom - is that correct? Or is there access from both areas?

Thanks!

The bathroom is access via a hallway from the living room. The master is across this hall. At the end of the hall is the washer/dryer. The hall is as long as the MB.

If you crossed from the MB to the BR or back, someone in the kitchen could see you.

This is the one thing I really disliked about the layout at AKV. Our DD and her family were in the studio part of the unit so until we all actually retired for the night the connecting door was always open. We had to make sure we were wearing robes or clothes at all times going to and coming from the shower. We missed the walk in shower also.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom in Jambo last year. The jacuzzi/shower combo is very difficult to get into, it's higher and the side wider than a regular tub.

I had read about this prior to our trip and was a bit worried as I have leg problems due to arthritis. We lucked out by getting a handicap room that had several safety bars inside and out of the tub. I didn't care for the non-locking sliding doors though. They were huge and very heavy.

Here is a floorplan for a Jambo House 2BR lockoff. The 1BR occupies the two "bays" on the left. Just an FYI: in some of the Jambo House 2BRs the connecting door is in the living area rather than in the entryway putting it right in line with the hallway separating the master BR and bathroom.

Here is another floor plan that shows the two possible locations of the connecting door between the 1BR and the studio. The 2BR lockoff on the left has the connecting door just past the kitchen, the one on the right has the connecting door in the kitchen/entryway.

Thanks everyone! DM decided to come along on our trip and I was trying to figure out if she or DH was going to have to worry more about getting to the bath during the night. :) From the layout I think we'll be ok for both of them. The big step into the tub could be a problem for her but we'll just have to figure something out or try and get an accessible room.
