Splurged for a savannah view on the next trip, figuring that if it's too hot to go to the parks, I can just sit on the balcony and watch the animals. But now rain's forecast. So if it rains, will this affect whether or not the animals are out and active?

Just guessing, but I would think the animals would be out unless there was lightening or the kind of downpour that would make it unsafe for them to be out.

If the weather is going to be severe, they will call the animals back to the barns for their safety. They use various audible signals to to do this. To my knowledge, they won't force them to return to their barns if they don't want to. Most of them will since they get their main meals at the barns.

Cooler rainy weather can make them more active than usual. Most likely just before or after a storm. We've seen some good chases going on and even giraffes running around.

I agree with above post. After a storm, the animals seem more active. Maybe it has gotten cooler?

During our trip it poured Saturday afternoon, and the ostrich and cattle sat in the rain outside our balcony, chilling out. It was great to watch them, since we'd decided to stay in for the afternoon. Later that night we did the night vision glasses thing at Kidani, and it was so cool!
