There seem to be a lot of rumors about a concierge level at AKV. I don't understand how that would work financially.
It's always been my understanding that DVC points pay for ACCOMMODATIONS while dues pay for SERVICES. I don't see how DVC could create a higher-point class of room for concierge and limit member access to just those booked into the more expensive rooms, while making all members fund the concierge desk through annual dues.
It seems like using points to obtain a concierge add-on turns them into a financial commodity. If that would work, why not a separate room class that lets people get the DDP using points? How about a length-of-stay park pass room?
I could see them making concierge services an add-on you could pay for at check-in (much like DDP), but I can't wrap my mind around the budgetary realities of a separate room class. Anyone else figure this out?
