Monday June 2nd
This morning was Nathans birthday and we were off to Bomas for brekkie
After brekkie we headed to the pool and laid in the sun for a few hours.
Around lunchtime we headed back to the room to get ready to head over to SSR for our 3pm spa treatments
After a lovely 80 minute massage we went back to AKV as we were off to the Yachtsman Steakhouse tonight. The weather was not looking good this afternoon and as we drove back to AKV it started to rain quite heavily and by the time we got back to the room the storm had started.
The storm ended with a nice rainbow.
Upon checking in at the desk the hostess produced a Birthday badge and wrote Nathans name on it
I must have mentioned his birthday when booking as the CM thought I was booking quite a bit in advance of the date. As we had a few minutes to spare we had a beer in the Crews Cup Lounge.
We then had a look at the meat on display in the chiller.
We found this HM in the chiller
Just after 8pm we were seated and our server was Oscar, who just loved to chat about football
We had a fab table by the window and were glad we were not outside as it chucked it down!
The menus were personalised and we soon decided what we were eating.
I started with the Chilled Seafood Salad - Lobster, Shrimp and Jumbo Crab with Lemon Créme Fraiche and Avocado Cream
While Nathan had the Caesar Salad - Crisp Romaine Lettuce, Aged Parmesan Cheese and Garlic Sourdough Croutons
After this we both had the Oak-fired Rib-Eye - 16-oz Rib-Eye served with horseradish mashed potatoes and red wine butter
The food was good and we shared a nice bottle of dry white wine
We then shared the Sorbet Trio - chef's selection of seasonal fruit sorbets, but as we were talking to Oscar I forgot to get a picture
Once we had finished we got a bus back to DTD then onto AKV.
