What sort of activities can I expect at Kidani for the kids?? Do they have pool side movies like some of the other DVC resorts?
What is in the community hall?
Also, one of my big things is the desire to try several different DVC resorts. Is this an achievable goal if I usually travel in March??

We didn't do a lot of activities when we were there, but did manage to catch the outdoor movie. Lot's of fun - they had it on the grass between Kidani and Jambo and supplied blankets for us to sit/lay on. There were a lot of other activites, but we didn't really partake.

We were at AKV last July 4th (2008). They had a great variety of activities for the kids. Comm Hall is located by the pool, they set up the activities pool side. Have fun

I took this picture of the activities at Kidani village, but I apologize in advance-it didn't come out as too easy to read-

Maybe you're thinking of Jambo? Community Hall in Kidani is to the right of the lobby if facing the savannah.

Community Hall is in Kidani. Although all dvc members can use it, it is much easier to get there if you're in Kidani. I was never aware of there being one in Jambo and if there was, it's probably closed now that they have the new one opened.

You didn't mention how old your kids are. The community hall is wonderful. It has an entire closet of board games, tables with cans of crayons and markers, make-it-yourself buttons ($1 a piece), a pool table, 3 PS2s (you can take out games, or bring your own from home), a Wii (same deal), big TV and a couch. one wall looks out on the savanna, so there's still plenty of opportunity to keep track of the animals while there and a bonus if you're in a standard view room. My 12 & 15 yos loved the place and could have stayed there all day even when enticed with going off to the parks. :) The staff is incredibly polite & helpful too.

Remember, in addition to community hall, you can also borrow movies from the store. Simply show your Room key printed with DVC member on it and that you're currently staying there (it's appreciated if you can return the movie by 10 the next morning - I do and it'd be nicer if more folk did)
