What do you think, a savannah room at Kidani or Jambo. Would love to get a chance for the kiddos to see some animals. What do you expereinced DVC members suggest?

Jambo rooms are on the 5th floor and Kidani starts on the lobby level and goes up. Some say the lower floors get a better shot of the animals. The big deciding factor is what size room I booked. If it is a studio, I will book Jambo for the food choices or if I don't want to cook. If it is a 1 bedroom or bigger, I go Kidani for the second bathroom and don't need food options.

Not to ruin the magic but, we always seem to get crappy Savanna view rooms. Last two trips, both Savanna views, the only animals that could be seen from our rooms were: trip 1, a big cow and 2 birds, trip 2, an ocopie and 3 wild pigs. They would come to eat from the feeders and then go somewhere else.

Last night we decided that the Savanna view rooms aren't worth it for us and that the better animals are kept around the lobbies of the resorts. We will spend additional time there when we want to view the animals.

If you have a studio, and will use counter service, I would go with Jambo, for a larger villa, I would go with Kidani. We've never not seen enough animals from our savannah view villas to make the point expense worth it. There are times of the day, in the mornings particularly, that the animals are brought in for feeding, weighing and care giving. Not all animals are out every day.

On my last walk through of Kidani, I did notice a road and fence on the left side of the hallway walking away from the lobby. Since the savannah on the left is where the red river hogs are, that sort of view may be what diseynutz had, and I wouldn't like the road/fence very much, but that savannah besides having the red river hogs, which I think are cute, also has okapi, and so, I don't think it's totally terrible.
