I was looking at the point chart. I know the AKV value studio is smaller than standard view. Does the same apply for the 1 bedroom? That the value is smaller? Are there any other differences? TIA.

Yes, the value villas are about three feet shorter in depth than the others. Plus the one and two bedroom value villas do not have the sleeper chair in the living room. They are only located in Jambo House. They have savanna, pool and parking lot views and you cannot request a view. Occupancy is limited to four in the one bedroom and eight in the two bedroom. Not five and nine.

Thanks to you both for your responses. I think when the time comes I will pass on value and book standard view to get the extra space we would crave.

If you book a Standard View, you might want to consider Kidani Village as the 1-bedrooms there are approx. 100 sq ft larger than the non-Value 1-bedrooms in Jambo House. The Kidani Village 1-bedrooms also have two bathrooms, the Jambo House 1-bedrooms only have one bathroom.

Thanks for the tips erionm! Hoping to go on member cruise next year. Been mentally planning and dreaming. For points' sake, Plan is to do 4 days at BLT studio to do the parks, 4 day cruise, then relax at a DVC resort for 3 days in a 1 BDR (would love AKL but may do OKW because of points). If points/money is really tight then may do studio post cruise or go home after cruise.

If you crave space go with something other than a BLT studio- they have very small living spacer and I would never think of doing them with 4 people of any age- they are great for DH and myself on a short 2-3 night trip.

Totally agree. The BLT studio is small, about the same size as the AKV Value studio, but the entryway, bathroom and kitchenette take up most of the space, leaving little for the living area like rlovew said.

Studios
AKV Value, Jambo House - 316
BLT - 339
SSR - 344

Actually a value is smaller and often only has an armoire versus a closet. The advantage of a BLT studio is that it has a lot of storage in the kitchenette and the walk to MK. But if you have the points, a BLT 1BR is much bigger at 803 square feet and like the 1BRs at Kidani Village they have two bathrooms.

No one mentioned it, but I just realized that the SSR studio really isn't much bigger than one at BLT.

We find the BLT studio is perfect for us as we are only a couple and don't need or want a king bed or a separate bedroom. And I appreciate the storage in the kitchen. I wish all of the DVC villas kitchens had that much storage space. I love the short walk to MK.

SSR is 355 SF, not 344. And the layout is almost identical to BWV, BCV, VWL. The layout of the BLT studio uses a lot more space in the bathroom, kitchenette and entryway than the other studios.

But the BLT studio is perfect for a couple versus a family of four.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. By the time we go, our family of four will consist of myself, DH, DD almost 8 years old, and DS 4 years old. This would be august and may rent a car to avoid the crazy bus waits (I'm impatient and would be willing for us to drive). Sounds like it may be crowded in the studio but LOVE the idea of walking to MK. Will probably still do BLT studio before the cruise & while doing the parks. Then if we have enough money/points after the cruise when we relax at the resort, we may do AKV Kidani (for the 2 bathrooms) or OKW 1 BDR (for the huge amount of space). Thanks again!
