AKV 100 point contract questions

If you buy direct into the AKV 100 point deal and do finance (I am in the UK) how long before you get your points/become a member and can you choose your use year? I have a Vero Beach contract going through ROFR and wondered about doing an add-on to get some extra points. The VB contract is being paid for outright, so it would only be the AKV one to pay for on finance. I don't have a deposit amount to put down, but my guide said this was OK and I could go 0 Deposit and 5 or 10 year loan.

Would I be better off waiting until I go to WDW in November, to get better rates/incentives and do the Disney Financing or do you think the current offer of 100 points will be over then? I couldn't stretch any further to do a 160 point contract!!

I just purchased the 100 point contract a month ago and I closed in about three weeks. After I called and did the verbal agreement on the phone it took 1 week to get the paperwork and I mailed back within a week and was closed the next week. However, the points for AKV are not available immediately. I will receive my first 100 points in Dec but will not be able to use them until May 2009 when Kidani opens. The good news no maintenance fees until then. December was the only use year available to me, it could be different for you.

I had never heard that you could buy without putting any money down. That was new to me. Good luck with whatever you decide.

We bought 100 points about 3 weeks ago at AKV at Jambo house with a Feb 2008 use year. We get to use those points immediately. We are going to stay at SSR in August.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but if the OP is in the process of ROFR at VB, when that comes through and she is in the system, can't she do an add-on at AKV for ANY amount greater than 50 points? I thought that once you are a DVC member, you can add on in any amount over 25 points (with cash) or 50 points on credit? We're planning on buying the 100 point AKV dealio sometime this week, but I also thought about adding on at OKW someday...but only 50 points or so. If Disney had inventory available, would I not be able to do that? Would it have to be the 160 point minimum?

You are correct. Once the OP closes on her VB contract and becomes a member, then she can add-on at AKV for as little as 25 points (cash) or 50 points (finance).
