We have a standard room booked at animal kingdom lodge in August. Is it possible to pay for an upgrade to a pool view or savannah view when we check in?

We have always been upgraded and never had to pay anything extra at all!!! Our last trip in May I asked If there was anyway we could have a pool view and he said well I have put in a savanna view if that is ok?? I am like "YES" that is perfect!!

So don't be afraid to just smile and ask nicely.....LOL Usually works if the resort is not full...I have been upgraded every single time I had the standard view and we have stayed at AKL more than anywhere else.

Yes, you can, but if it's really important to you and you know you want to stay at either pool or savannah view then I would switch now or you run the risk of there not being availability.

Also, if you booked with any type of promotional discount, that discount won't extend to the upgrade at check in.

I booked with a CM friends and family discount so the standard view was the only option! We are getting the hotel for a great price so I don't mind paying more for an upgrade the day of! Of course...free would be even better!!
