a Savannah and Savannah Deluxe?
Is it just the bed type and configuration?

The Delux Savannah view rooms are on the top floors and are about 3 feet longer than the regular savannah views. The fabrics are different on the beds and curtains and regular savannah view rooms sleep 4 while some of the deluxe savannah view rooms sleep 5. We had a deluxe and really enjoyed it but were lucky enough to be assigned one of those that was under the thatched domed roof so we had a larger than usual balconey. If you do not need to sleep 5 you don't really need a deluxe room.

The deluxe savannah rooms are on the 5th floor of the zebra and kudo trails and are a few feet longer. There three bedding arrangements; King (with daybed?), 2 queens, and 1queen with bunks and daybed. The bunk bed room is the only one that sleeps 5.

I have no idea if we were in a deluxe the first time or not. We had 2 queen beds and a day bed. I don't remember our floor #, but we overlooked the savannah where Arusha Rock is.

The second time we were upgraded to a regular savannah and had a queen bed and a set of bunks. The first room certainly seemed bigger.

So if there are just three of us (including baby), a regular Savannah would be sufficient.

Yes. The deluxe savanah view rooms are 380 square feet or there abouts and the regular savannah view rooms are around 340 square feet. This will be plenty of room. Some people lprefer the smaller rooms as they are on lower levels and closer to the animals.

The deluxe rooms are only a couple/few feet longer. It would not be worth the price increase unless you had 5 in a room or were doing the concierge(which is a deluxe room). A King room might be good for your family. Some extra space for the crib. It's a great hotel.

Thanks Lisa! We're contemplating a weekend stay at AKL. DH has always wanted to stay here and it would save us from using DVC points.

We'd definitely want a savannah view! :)
