So, I'm seriously considering a March long weekend trip (I have my AP until April and want to see Flower & Garden plus Disney After Hours). I have a couple resort options and was hoping to flesh them out with more people. I think I want to make this a relaxing low-key trip, so may spend more time at resort and want to try out a Deluxe. It will either be a solo trip or maybe my sister will come too. I am considering the following options:
Wilderness Lodge
-Was able to book a standard room for $1800 total (4 nights). Unfortunately no availability with the RO discount that was just released. Also it would have only be 10%. Doubtful there will be availability with an AP discount.
Pros:
-Close to Magic Kingdom, where I/we likely will have 2 evenings.
-Boat transport; everytime I took the boats during my last trip I found it very relaxing and loved it!
Cons:
-Price more than the other options.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
-There is a pool view room with the RO discount available for $1600 total. Maybe I'll be able to get the AP discount which could bring that down about another $80. No standard views were available, but if one opens up I could reduce cost more, plus have the possibility of requesting a partial savanah view.
Pros
-Price lower
-Loved AKL when we visited for brunch
Cons
-Farther away from MK, so longer bus travel time on those nights.
-Pool view could have noisy kids?
Kidani Studio Villa
-I checked on DVC rentals and they were able to find one available at Kidani for $1200. It would be a studio/standard view. I don't know if it's still available but can check again.
Pros
-Lowest price
Cons
-Have to walk to Jambo House for The Mara, as I don't plan on making food in the room and don't like Indian, so Sanaa is out.
-If sister came she'd be on a fold out couch.
-Farther away from MK
-Can't cancel once I book.
