We wre going to WDW in Oct on a 7 day land and sea, We wont be spending much time at the resort because we have too much planned. We have 2 kids, 1 dd age 5 and 1 ds age 18mos. Which resort would be better, the central location of BC or being able to see the animals at AKL??

Although I prefer AKL to the Beach club, it sounds like the BC would be a better option for you based on your post. What is wonderful about AKL are the animals, the unique experience of swimming or jacuzzing near Flamingoes and Giraffes, a great playground, a gorgeous pool area, a night campfire with a view of the animals on one side and a gorgeous, lit up lobby on the other. The CMs are very friendly, and the soft drum-like music playing around the common areas is relaxing. The food service area is my favorite of all the deluxes. However, it is only close to AK (which is fine for us since its my favorite park) but if you have plans for elsewhere in the world it is not as convenient as the Beach Club. The Beach club is more centrally located (as you indicated) and has all the transportation options, such as the boats and the ability to walk to two of the parks, that AKL doesn't have. I think the resort experience is better at AKL than the Beach club, but if you aren't going to be at the resort much, than it seems a better location would be better.

I have to vote for the BC. For me it's all about location. The AKL is to far removed if you aren't going to be spending alot of resort time there. The BC is a wonderful resort. Spend some time at the AK for a wonderful viewing of the animals.

Ahhhhhhh, we LOVE them both!!! We are DVC owners at the BCV & will be there in a few days :teeth: , but on our last trip we stayed in 2 rooms at the AKL & loved it. However, we spent most of our time there b/c that trip was all about swimming & enjoying the resorts. I would definitely vote for the BC...When we were there a couple of years ago, my youngest DS had trouble unwinding at the end of the day. This is such a great area to load the kids in the stroller & take a leisurely nighttime walk. Most of the time he fell asleep, & my DH & I truly enjoyed that magical time! The transportation was always very good, too. Best wishes in whatever you decide!

I'd definately go with the BC. The AKL is nice, but with kids who will definately want the mid-day or pre-dinner break, the AKL is a little too far from the restaurants, theme parks and other activities you'd likely want to do at night. Also, in October, the parks close earlier, and transportation to and from the AKL is a nightmare after dark. You must transfer to DTD before you can make it to any other resort or destination. At the BC, you are within walking distance of the YC, BWI, BW, Swan, Dolphin and the only park sure to be open until 9:00, Epcot. Also, the BC has three pools (to the AKL's 1), restaurants that are more likely to appeal to the little ones, a greater variety of restaurants, bigger, brighter rooms, a marina with boat rentals and boat transportation to two theme parks. AKL is a unique resort with neat views and a beautiful lobby, but for your circumstance, I don't think there is much of a comparrison between these two resorts.

I would have to say AKL. The kids will love the animals! Another great thing, in my experience, was that the transportation was great. All of the busses that go to AKL service only that resort, so you don't have to share your busses with another resort. We always got where we wanted to go in a timely manner.

BC! We have a DD who is just turning 22 months and we satyed at the BC in March! With a stroller, we could access three parks without ever taking her out of it, and this was a lifesaver when she fell asleep!::yes::

You can walk to EPCOT and MGM and stroll through EPCOT to get on the monorail for direct access to the MK!

We loved our stay at the BC in March! You can't go wrong with this choice and also your little ones will love SAB! I know our DD did!:boat:
