My family is looking to go to WDW in November. There will be 5 of us. There will be 4 adults and a 5 year old. I've read that the one bedroom suites can sleep 5 people. There is a king in the bedroom and pull out couch and chair in the living area. How comfortable are those beds? We can either stay in a villa and split the cost or we can each get our own rooms at POFQ. It's me, my husband and our DD5 in one room and my parents in another. We couldn't stay in just a room like POR with my parents, but I think a villa there would be more space and we wouldn't be on top of one another.
If we decide to go with the Villa, we would try to rent points, that is the only way we could afford it. I know there's are post about that, but has anybody done that? I'm a little nervous about putting my faith in somebody else to make my reservations.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

We have stayed in one of the AKV studios. The kids slept on the pull out sofa and had no complaints (beyond hating sharing the bed ;) ).
I did rent points for our stay and everything went smoothly for me. I rented from another poster on Tourguidemike. She was great to work with. It does require having a lot of trust in a complete stranger.

We're trying to decide the same thing. We were thinking of staying at the 1 bedroom suite at Kidani vs 2 rooms at the WL. We like the fact that you get a kitchen (although I know we'll never cook) but there just seems like there is so much more living space besides just sitting on a bed in a hotel room. I am not sure about the pull out couches but my son stayed on one at Old Key West once and didn't have any complaints. I just kind of figured that I don't sleep that well when I'm not in my own bed anyway-so what's the difference? We may end up doing a split stay between AK Kidani and WL CL-that way if we hate it, we won't be stuck there for the whole week.

We had 4 adults sharing a 1BR villa at Kidani in October. I slept on the pull-out sleeper chair & it was great. No complaints at all. No complaints from the person that slept on the sofa bed, either. It was PLENTY of space for 4 adults to move around, get ready & sleep comfortably. Kidani has the extra bathroom in the 1BR as well as the skeeper chair, I don't think that Jambo does though.

Our family has used the pull outs many, many times (too many manys). No complaints. In the studio the pull out is a full size, in the 1 bedroom the pull out is a queen. JFYI. My 5 yo granddaughter slept on the pull out chair and no complaints there either. I think they've come a long way in terms of the pull out beds. Of course I always get the king bed! Remember the 1 bedrooms also have a washer and dryer and you get use to that real fast. Since some of you are looking into renting, keep in mind that you don't get any housekeeping and limited service depending on the length of your stay. For a stay of 7 nights you get clean towels on day 4. On a stay of 8 nights, you get a full cleaning on day 4 and clean towels on day 7.

i've rented points twice for 2011. one for march and one for may, also planning on doing so for november. both have gone smoothly, both have had contracts and have offered references. it does require faith, that's for sure. i really think that it's the way to go. you just have to watch the boards and hope for the best :) good luck!!

The sofa-beds at DVC resorts are surprisingly comforatble.

I gotta say some are better than others. Kidani has pretty nice ones, VWL (as I just slept on one a couple of weekends ago) not so much. The foam was quite thin and I could feel all the cross bars.

It seemed like a new sofa - similar in concept design to Kidani and BLT, but the mattress was thinner. It was in very good condition. Some of the villa sofas are a bit worse for the wear. We hadn't been to VWL for a while and usually get a 1 bedroom vs the studio we had this time. Always love The Lodge though!

Honestly we love Kidani more everytime we stay there too. The 1 bedrooms are super roomy and the extra bathroom is great! The master bath is beautiful. Great pool and water playground. Sanaa is fabulous. Once you stay in a one bedroom going back to a regular hotel room is hard! Or a studio for that matter

Don't know about the AKV sofa beds. We were two adults on the sofabed in a one-bedroom villa at BCV and all I can say is, never again. We checked out two days early and checked into Portofino Bay Hotel where we could all have comfortable beds.

Based on our experience, the sofa beds are manageable for kids, but not for two adults.

My kids sleep on the sofa and pull-out chair and have never complained. We had another couple stay with us in a one bedroom for a quick trip last August and they said that the sofa was pretty comfortable.

I slept on the pullout sofa @ Jambo, 1 br villa and the mattress was so thin I could feel the cross bars and by the 4th morning I was waking up with a backache (which I've never had.) I switched over to the pull out chair and viola, the backache disappeared. Perhaps the mattresses @ Kidani are better, but Jambo's were not so good.
